OFFLINE | The most common form of temple (built as a house) are called Mbari and are clustered around what is now the city of Owere. They were made out of mud and thatch and most of them were left to decay to appease the earth deity, Ala, the same deity or arushi that the Mbari is dedicated to.
Igbo houses were made out of mud until cement was introduced. Many were decorated using Uri (paint) for murals, other items like plates and wood panels were also present. |
