OFFLINE
Most people who think about hunting think of rifles and shotguns. But because of finances or fear of firearms they don't have a firearm. So here is a small list of other items that one may want to have instead of or along with firearms.

1) Blowgun: they are inexpensive and can be used for small game like squirrels, rabbits or birds.

2) Sling shot: also inexpensive and great for small game and birds.

3) Archery bows: I would recommend a recurve but a compound could also be used. Bows can range from under $50 to over $1000 and from 20# to over 100# draw. Even a low cost low draw weight (20# - 30#) can be used for small game. You will need something 45# or higher for larger game. Yes you can use a lower draw weight for deer but it is not as clean a kill.

4) Pistol Crossbow: usually 50# and 80# draws and under $50. Great for small game and birds. I have heard that you can get deer with them but I don't know if that would be legal in your state.

5) Full size crossbow: Ranging from 130# to over 200# draw from under $80 to over $1500. But 150# and be purchased for less than $100,is more than sufficient for most game like deer, black bear, coyote, ect. If you are going after something larger then maybe 185#. Most states allow crossbow hunting but check your local regulations.

And finally

6) An Atlatl or just a spear: I have seen these used from everything from frog gigging, spear fishing to taking down a deer. But again check with local regulations.

Now I know there are a few more items out there that I may not have listed but these are just a few that I thought of quickly. Remember in a survival situation use what you have to, to feed your family and loved ones.
