Public Relations Internship
Description:
The Statesboro Humane Society seeks Writing & Linguistics majors and/or minors for a public relations internship. The Public Relations Intern will be responsible for assisting with a variety of promotional materials, articles, brochures, and reports related to Humane Society and area events. Responsibilities of this intern may include, but will not be limited to, the following:
1. Composing, updating, editing, and/or proofreading promotional materials;
2. Writing articles for community publications;
3. Conducting research;
4. Updating Website, as needed;
5. Community outreach with the Georgia Southern student body;
6. Other writing-related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be an energetic, highly motivated individual with exceptional writing skills and a passion for animals. Applicant should be deadline-driven and detail-oriented, with an eye for proofreading and editing. This individual should be a self-starter with strong communication skills and must be able to work well independently and as part of a group. Candidates should familiarize themselves with the mission of the Statesboro Humane Society at www.statesborohumane.org.
Credit Hours:
This is an unpaid internship; however, the selected candidate may receive up to three (3) hours of credit (WRIT 4790) in each semester of the internship. Work schedule will be coordinated with the internship supervisor.
