Hey guys, we lost the old FAQ for new users when Facebook got rid of boxes.. anyone want to help create a new one? I started a list below, if you can think of questions or come up with some concise and informative answers, your input would be much appreciated.

How do I play Hatchlings?
Hatchlings is played by finding eggs and clicking on them.
What is the goal of the game?
The goal can be anything you want. You can collect all of the special eggs; you can compete to collect more eggs than your friends; you can compete to win within your own network; you can challenge yourself to reach a certain score within a round; you can collect enough eggs to reach a new Level. It's totally a personal choice of what you would like your own goal to be.
Where do you find eggs?
If you are having trouble finding eggs, the first place you should look is your own basket. Next check your friends' baskets. If you are looking for tips on hunting faster you should read our guide to hunting faster, at
http://apps.facebook.com/egghunt/faq/hunting-faster.php. Eggs are constantly being hidden; each time someone claims an egg, another one is hidden. So just because there wasn't an egg in a basket a minute ago doesn't mean there isn't one there now!
How do I find more baskets to look in?
The more friends you have that play Hatchlings, the more baskets you have to search in.
Do I have to hatch my pets?
No. There is no advantage to keeping pets or releasing pets in the game. It is a matter of personal preference. If you keep them you have to feed them or they will run away. You can also add Eggsessories to dress them up. Eggsessories are available for purchase in the warehouse, at
http://apps.facebook.com/egghunt/warehouse/?accessories.
Why do my pets keep running away?
Like real life pets, Hatchlings pets must be regularly fed. A newborn hatchling starts with a 5/10 happiness meter, and will lose 1 happiness meter every 12 hours (except for the 1/10 happiness meter, which will last for 24 hours). Hover your cursor over your pet to see the Runaway Time, which is the date and time your hatchling pet will runaway if it is not fed. Note that every time you feed your hatchling pet, 12 hours will be added to the runaway time and the happiness meter will increase to the next level.
How do I feed my own pets?
To feed your own pets, find an egg, successfully claim an egg, choose "Give to Pet", then select the pet you wish to feed. Repeat the steps until each pet is fed.
How do I feed my friends' pets?
To feed a friends' pets (they must be on your friend list and have pets available to feed), do the following: find an egg, successfully claim that egg, choose "Give to Friend", choose the option below the box with pictures of your friends that says "or you can give this egg to one of your friends' pets", select the friend whose pets you wish to feed, and then select the pet you wish to feed. Repeat the steps until each pet is fed.
How do I join a network?
Either click on the "Update Network" link at the top right of your network ranks, or go to
http://apps.facebook.com/egghunt/updateNetwork.php.
I didn't get an opportunity to gift an egg I purchased in The Warehouse, what do I do?
Send a message to: hatchlingshells@mchsi.com and include the following information:
Link to basket of purchaser
Description of the problem that was encountered
Number of shells that were "lost"
If you were gifting the egg, include link to basket of recipient
Make sure responses from hatchlingshells@mchsi.com won't be caught by a SPAM filter and prevented from getting to your inbox
Please note, only the purchaser of the egg should follow these steps; recipients must have the purchaser send the email or nothing can be done.
What is the difference between regular shells and donor shells?
Regular shells can be used to purchase many eggs from the Warehouse; those that are in the Classic Eggs, Collections, and Zodiacs sections. Regular shells can also be used to purchase Eggsessories. How can I post, or re-post, a Level Up party and then how long does it last?
You can re-post a Level Up party by going to your basket page and clicking on the"pushpin" on your Quick Reference Bar (just to the left of your Level) to post, or re-post, the party invitation. The pushpin is available until you claim an additional 100 eggs after you level up. Once you have found 100 eggs after you leveled up, the push pin disappears until you reach the next level. Friends may claim shells from your party for up to one week after you post your party
How do rounds work?
Rounds are approximately three months in duration. At the end of each Hatchlings round, scores are finalized and rankings are solidified. Most things carry over to the next round. You will keep your Hatchlings, your shells, and your special eggs. You will also be issued a certificate to commemorate your achievement in the preceding round. What gets reset is your score and ranking. Scores are reset to zero for the new round to put everyone on a level playing field again. This gives new hunters a chance to compete fairly with old-timers and allows you an opportunity to rank highly regardless of your performance in the past round.
How often are new eggs released?
New eggs are generally released at least once a week, usually at midnight GMT Monday. However, this is totally at the discretion of the developer, and can be released at any time so one never really knows.
What browser do you recommend for Hatchlings?
Google Chrome or Safari
How do I get the Cat Evolution eggs?
In order to collect the cat evolution eggs, they must be gifted back and forth between friends. To share a cat egg with a friend, complete the following steps: Go to the "FREE GIFTS" link in the upper right corner from any basket page (or use
http://apps.facebook.com/egghunt/free.php), select the egg you would like to send to a friend (this egg will now have a blue border around it), then select another egg that you like to receive from a friend (that egg will now have a red border around it). You will now be able to continue to send and select the friend you want to send this cat egg to. Some of the cat eggs may not be available for you to send, as your level in the game determines which eggs you can send. The higher your level the more eggs available to you. You may only send one egg every 24 hours to the same friend.
Why can I only send 24 eggs per day (via requests)?
This is a limitation of Facebook, and cannot be changed by Hatchlings.
I accidentally blocked images; how can I correct this?
From TOOLS-> INTERNET OPTIONS look for where you can check load images automatically. There should be a button for exceptions. On the list of exceptions you need to look for: "d2j3te77c2nbo5...." or "static.hatchlings.com". If you find either of them on the list DELETE IT.
