HAM Radio Deluxe (HRD) is probably one of the most popular software suites to use with your amateur radio. HRD has several components.
HAM Radio Deluxe: This is the main hub of HRD. This component control your radio (CAT) and communicates with all the other components of the HRD Suite.
Rotor Control: This component allows HRD to control the position of your antenna if you have a supported rotor configured in HRD.
HRD Logbook: This is the logging component of HRD. This is also the component where the cluster integration takes place.
Digital Mode 780: DM780 is the component that enables you to work digital modes like RTTY, PSK, Hellscreiber, etc.
Satellite Tracker: This component enables you to track and monitor satellites and automatically sets your radio frequency, modulation and rotor position according to the satellite you want to work.
HRD is originally a software suite that is meant for HAM radio amateurs, but it's flexible configuration options allow us to modify the software in such a way that it can be used for 11 meter use.
To start using HRD for 11 meters do the following:
Download HRD from http://www.ham-radio-deluxe.com. There is a free and a commercial version. This procedure below applies to both versions.
Install the software.
Configure your radio's CAT control according to the HRD manual. (this is optional and very useful, however not needed to use HRD for 11 meter).
Define the 11m band. In HRD Logbook: Tools menu, Configure, Bands, Add the 11m band.
Configure the 11m band spread. In HRD Logbook in the cluster window, Options, Spot Filters, Add 11 meter.
Define the cluster connection details. In HRD Logbook in the cluster windows, Options, Connection, Add. Pick one of the cluster nodes from this page.
After configuring the Cluster you can connect to it.
To be able to see which DXCC you have worked and which not, you will have to update the Countries with the 11 meter prefixes.
Download the HRD Countries file from here and save the file on your desktop.
In HRD Logbook from the main menu, Countries, Manager. The Country Management window should appear.
WARNING!! If you also use HRD for logging your HAM QSO's, don't do the next step!!!! You will remove all your country references and prefixes from the database!!!
Select the first entry, hold the SHIFT key, scroll to the bottom of the list and select the last entry. All entries should now be selected. Press the Delete button.
Press the Load button and select the file you saved on your desktop.
You should have all the 11 meter prefixes in HRD now.
Now you are ready to use HRD for 11 meter.
BTW, here's a video how to do this!
Have fun!!

Do you have the updated version for latest HRD? as this tutorial doesn't work for 6.40.086 for some reason you can't delete the current DXCC countries and import the new 1
