Just went over to myspace - or "my_____" as it's called now - out of sheer curiosity (haven't logged in there since last year I'd say) as I was cleaning out my bookmarks and found it the link.  To login, you can either hit the login button.......

......or you can hit the big blue "connect with facebook" button.

Remember when there was the big debate over who was going to be bigger, myspace or facebook? Well, think we know now anyway :-P

Competition for limited resources plays a major role in evolution.  When two species are competing to survive in the same niche one species either must become better at collecting resources than its rival to servive, or it can simply reduce competition by changing its niche.  MySpace opted to do the later.

doesn't help much when one species commits suicide. they edged themselves out of the market due to bad management decisions.

Like trying to differentiate themselves from facebook by allowing ppl to "bling up" their profiles to the point where around 1 profile in 3 would make your eyes bleed when you looked at it, and ignoring the fact that a lot of ppl were being drawn to facebook to play games like farmville?

Yeah, for about the last year/18 months  or so of the service the, only reason I'd login was for the groups. When they went, so did I.

Canning the groups was definitely MS's biggest mistake. After a while it was the only reason people still stayed there. I think FB also has it's annoying characteristics. Mainly little things such as having to click on your profile to view your friends list. I really don't like how you can't browse people (like in your area for instance). Unless you know their name already. I think the reason was because they didn't want FB to be used as a dating service because that's what I was doing on MS for a while.
