We have to find a new qb. O-line should be better than last year and we ought to have a good running game. I dunno what our passing game will look like. Defense is supposed to be decent, but I wont be making predictions yet until i see em in action. I didnt really enjoy a game last year until we hammered Mich State in our bowl game.
But I'm getting the HDTV warmed up and I'm cleanign off the old BBQ smoker. Getting ready for a bran new season!
(Btw...hope yall kill Oregon in a few weeks!)
=)
Well as far as Oregon is concerned, they couldn't handle Auburn's D-line. LSU's D-line is much deeper, better, and faster than Auburn's was last year. I really don't think the Ducks know what they are getting themselves into.
As far as 'Bama is concerned, ya'll are sitting in the same boat as us. Talent all over the field, but can the QB get the ball to them.
This is how I see it (feel free to correct me):
QB- A wash. Yeah LSU might have the experience, but he can't get it together. Talent could overcome 'Bama's lack of experience.
RB- Slight edge to 'Bama. With the losses to the position you guys have been experiencing lately(injuries and suspensions) this gap is closing. LSU seems to have the depth, but I believe Richardson to be one of the top five RB's(may even be the best) in the nation and that is what gives the push to Bama.
WR- Edge to LSU. With Randle and Shepard we have two of the tallest, fastest, most talented starting WR's in the country(with Jefferson at QB you would never know we had three 5 star recruits at WR last year....two are left). 'Bama really has no proven commodity at this moment but has recruited well.
OL- A wash. Both LSU and 'Bama have experience at all 5 positions. Both have recruited well so both have depth behind the starters. Both are built for slamming the ball down the D's throat.
DL- Edge to LSU. You guys lost too much over the last couple of years. D-line is the Achilles heel of what is supposed to be a stellar defense for 'Bama. LSU may not have the overall star power that some teams have, but year after year we have a D-line that is among the best and this is one of the most talented (if somewhat unproven) LSU has ever had.
LB- Big edge to 'Bama. What 'Bama has behind the D-line is about as close to a pro lineup as you will see in the NCAA.....nuff said about that.
DB- A wash. Most of the experts say LSU has the best, deepest DB's in the nation, but judging from their production last year... I just don't know. 'Bama's weakness last year was their DB's. They are talented and deep and now they have experience. I really can't say who has the best until we see them perform on the field.
All in all, I think this is gonna be a good year for both you and I. I really don't believe the Arkansas hype. It will come down to 'Bama and LSU in a fight for the west and ultimately the national championship.
