I don't really fit into either camp, especially as far as the U.S opinion of Liberal and Conservative goes but ion the spirit of playfulness and Nation bashing..............You're a good ole gun totin Bush votin bar-bee-q'in country music lovin stetson wearin God fearin boy who knows nothing about anything that goes on outside his own State's (never mind Countries) borders!

Hey buddy... I make the best BBQ around!  You should come get some.  Smoke that beef brisket for hours and hours with a special rub on it.  Man...heaven!  I do pretty well at ribs and pork butts too.    Good ol Southern Cole Slaw on the side.  Iced Tea.  And Banana puddin!  Woo hoo!  Lol!

Well, we dont hear much about the IRA anymore, so I dunno what to complain about with regards to Ireland. Lol!  Maybe food?  Which is best...cottage pie or shephard's pie?

Well, I did hear that Queenie is visiting Ireland soon. First time a Bristish royal has been there since 1911, I guess... Is this worthy of a topic?  Anyway, this "progressive" is busy living life (at a much slower pace), protesting when I can, etc.  And reading too many magazines.  My dad subscribed to Time & Mother Jones for me.  Luckily, the Nation subscrption ran out, lol.  Then there's military history, Vietnam mag, etc that I sometimes read.  I told y'all I was an information junky!  My grandma was the same way. Didn't want to miss a thing if it was in print, and in the house! (she actually got 2 daily newspapers & several magazines) So, I come by it honestly!  My dad also sends newspapers from our little home town and other stuff he thinks we'll find interesting.  Nope, it didn't skip a generation...  I've also been busy playing taxi driver for family members who don't drive, or their car is broke down, etc.  That keeps me plenty busy.  Did I mention I have three dogs, a husband, a cousin with disabilities that lives with us to take care of, and I do my mom's laundry?  Is that excuse enough?  My email is piling up too!!  Either my life is getting busier, or I am getting slower, or it's a bit of both!

I am done with hypocrisy, corrupt corporations making record profits in dire times for most on this planet and dirty lying politicians.  I don't care what you consider yourself to be, we are all a part of the human species and should all look to ourselves to be the solution to the problems facing us in these turbulent times.  Time to stop passing the buck and accept that I am the problem, as well as you.  Republicans are the problem as are democrats.  Nobody's hands are clean and the finger pointing is just a distraction from the real issue of all of us having to be a part of the solution.  Get right and clean up our own back yards.

It pains me to say this Dennis, but the best BBQ I have ever had, hands down, is actually......wait for it......wait for it......Central Coast California. That stuff is good enough to make someone slap their mama (take it from a guy who has been quite a few places).

First step.....take lobbyists out of Washington. That would cut corporate welfare down to zero.

I really don't mind companies making a profit (that is what they are there for anyway), but when companies make billions in profit and still get billions in government handouts, then there is something really wrong. If we cut that out, then we have quit a bit left over to help the "little guys".

I've actually seen tv shows that talk about how good some of the southern cali bbq is.    I do a pretty good job of it though.
