| Hi,
I'm having trouble recording virtual MIDI in Meteor.
I have bought the MIDI editor, as well as the virtual instruments. I'm running an iPad 2, 32GB, iOS 5.1.1
I can record MIDI from a connected keyboard, but I was hoping to be able to record MIDI from the virtual keyboard (either in Meteor or any other iOS keyboard app that does virtual MIDI) and play another synth e.g. Sunrizer. I found that I can use the virtual keyboard to record MIDI in Meteor, but only if a virtual instrument is assigned to the track. But then, I can't hear Sunrizer. So I am guessing that assigning a virtual instrument cancels any MIDI output. I can get external MIDI sent out again, if I play back the clip after removing the virtual instrument. That's not a good workaround, because I am not recording the MIDI while performing the synth the track is destined for.
I know that virtual MIDI "kind of" works, because I can play Sunrizer from the virtual keyboard in Meteor. I just can't record the MIDI ! Ironically, Beatmaker 2 will record the MIDI from the virtual keyboard of Meteor.
I was hoping that Meteor would be good for composing, arranging etc on my commute, when it's not practical to take a hardware keyboard. I bought it in anticipation of Audiobus support, which I know is coming shortly.
Please tell me there is a way to record virtual MIDI in Meteor ! What am I missing ?
thanks for any help, cheers
