Thanksgiving is a big love/hate holiday. It's kinda funny listening to all the liberals complain about this holiday when deep down they're really just complaining about how their life sucks and looking for reasons to express themselves.

Why would people complain about a holiday whose sole purpose seems to be to make people travel half-way across the country to go visit people they only see 2-3 times a year and then to lapse into a food coma after eating enough per person to keep a small african village alive for 2 weeks?

Well why do liberals complain about anything they do? They see other people that are happy and want to make sure that everyone else is just as angry and depressed as they are. They usually choose thanksgiving because it is an easy target. It's another holiday to be happy with friends and family, but it is based on past events that is considered to be something terrible.

Well...I'm not complaining about thanksgiving.  I love the holidays!  And yeah, I bought and cooked dinner for widowed mom and ate until I lapsed into a coma.  Lol!

Well, to be fair, that's why most people complain about stuff though, not just liberals. Especially uber-religious people who pretty much believe that you have to be miserable in this life so that you can be happy in the next, and if you're not miserable you're probably sinning in some way....

Fortunately Puritanism died of in the United States a long time ago.  Even the Evangelical fundies don't seem to have a problem letting their hair down and having some fun from time to time.

No way dude, Evangelicals are the worst.......by a long, long margin. Hell they even think Catholics are somehow not Christians. Doesn't make sense to anyone who knows that Catholicism is what all other denominations sprang from, but whatever......

And if Mato were here, we would hear someone bitching about Thanksgiving.

I remember Mato, he made for some interesting discussions.  I could easily imagine him going on an anti-thanksgiving/American-Indian genocide rant.  I miss him and Marc (or was it Matt?  The dude from Bueno Vista).  Heck, I remember back in the day we had two Scotts, a Brit, and a Frenchie as well.

Well, to be fair, it didn't have to be thanksgiving, he could pretty much eventually turn any conversation around to american-indian genocide....

Heck, I remember back in the day we had two Scotts, a Brit, and a Frenchie as well.

You'd better not be counting me as the brit there... :-P

Irish, Brit, whats the difference (jk)?  I was referring to Lee, who hasn't been by in a few months.
