GRE is one of the main examinations required, if you are planning to do your higher studies in USA. It is a prerequisite for admissions there. The exam is of 3 sections viz Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical Writing.
Each university specifies a certain minimum requirement in these sections for admissions.
The exam will be a online based one. This has to be taken at a computer center in a nearby city based on availability.
Preparation is a must.
