I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone on here for all the fun I've had discussing and debating with you for the last several years.  Despite all the disagreements (or perhaps because of them) its been a blast.  Due to the encroaching rapture (currently projected to hit California at about 11 PM tonight), however, I fear there won't be much more opportunity for our little chats.  Well, whats left to say?  Sayonara!

Well, so far this guy has predicted the end of the world was going to be:

(1) September 15, 1994, the Jewish Day of Atonement
(2) September 25, 1994, the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles
(3) October 4, 1994, the actual birthday of Jesus that Mr. Camping calculated
(4) December 25, 1994, our traditional celebration of Christmas
(5) February 25, 1995, the Jewish Feast of Purim
(6) May 3, 1996, the result of (Mark 13:35) extended the September 6, 1994, date

So, talk to y'al tomorrow so?

Wouldn't we all be pissed though if the rapture did happen and the only people taken up to heaven were Fred Phelps and his lot? :-P

They're not leaving themselves much wiggle-room are they? From the FAQ on their web page (http://www.familyradio.com/facts/):

"What if May 21 ends and nothing occurs?
The Biblical evidence is too overwhelming and specific to be wrong. Christ's people can look with great confidence to this date because God promises His "beloved" He will not come upon them as a thief in the night."

So if they get it wrong, can you sue this guy for breach of promise?

Me, I'd believe the Ancient Mayans before I'd believe some 90-year-old dude in california who#s been wrong 6 times already.... Roll on December 21 next year!

Camping: Rapture Occurred, but No One Worth Saving

According to preacher Harold Camping, yesterday the Rapture occurred. During the Rapture, all good Christians ascended to Heaven to be with God while the wicked were damned to remain on Earth to experience the end of the world in October.

"This is absolute proof that I am correct," said Camping. "The rapture definitely took place, but there just wasn't a soul worth saving so it went unnoticed. The world will still end in October, as planned."

When asked why he, as a good Christian, hadn't ascended at 6PM California time, Mr. Camping offered little explanation, simply saying, "Why I am still here is irrelevant; all I can do now is take the 80 million dollar surplus my organization has collected from religious donors to the Cayman Islands where I intend to work tirelessly spreading the word of God before the End of Days in October."

Despite numerous prayers placed to His office, God has yet to respond with any comment on the Rapture.

man won't the know the day or the hour, so anyone who does claim to know, is a fraud...obviously. the way things are going, i'm starting to have a more post millennial attitude.
