OFFLINE | I would love to hunt my hooligan but even though I am right in the middle of the Beaufort Hunt their hunts are a bit full on and I would rather not have the sort of accident that makes the local paper! We don't mind travelling - does anyone know a hunt who would not mind a possibly unruly fat Haf and a panicky rider at the back with minimal massive hedges (actually, make that NO massive hedges lol) and easy ground? Or is there anyone who would like to take the hooligan for me? |

OFFLINE | The first Hunt i ever took B on was a newcomers meet! It was really good as it didn't matter how anyones horse/pony reacted! I had hunted many time in past qualifying point to pointers but that was 20yrs previous so it was good for both of us to start with! if you can find a hunt in your area that does a meet like this to start you are onto a winner. Hunting 1st timers tend to blow their brains ( just a bit) but they soon settle. I was lucky with B as she loves her trailer (lots) and as soon as she gets in she is chilled! |

OFFLINE | Lots of hunts run a newcomers day as it is a national thing, and they offer babysitters for less experienced riders/horses so that they get the best out of the day, just ask around in your area and see what folks recommend. You don't have to jump, remember there is a gate in every field! |

OFFLINE | If I think fatty is up to it there is a small meet very local to us next Saturday. I am trying to persuade my next door neighbour to babysit us along with her 2 eldest children and tell me all the rules (I have absolutely NO idea what to wear lol). Watch this space..... |
