i was under the impression that you can only give one gift per day (unless your vip and then you can give 3) but someone told me that i was incorrect. that you can give twice a day. just looking for the correct answer here if anyone can help. thanks

It's supposed to be once per day per neighbor. There was and still may be a game glitch that can allow players with slow connection speeds to gift more than one gift per neighbor even if they are not V.I.P. Perhaps the people that told you that had not gifted someone the day before and found that they were able to gift them twice in one day. Once before and then once again after the time for that days gifting had come.
