Defensive gems (incomplete list of)

As the CA wiki appears to be rather negligent towards defensive gems in the game (it's not even appearing in the alchemy list so far), allow me to list them here so you can plan ahead a bit. Note that this is a first attempt, so it could contain errors... notify or correct it if you bump into any!

Now, as you may or may not know, every 10 points of physical pierce/resist adds 1% to your attack- respectively defensepower in pvp. That's *total* amount... so when you have high stats it REALLY adds up, e.g. having base values of 1000 attack and 1000 defense (ignoring generals, runes or equipment), you gain 17 attack for every 10 points of pierce and 17 defense for every 10 points in resistance due to the 70% rule. While this sounds like the pierce-resistance generals are godly in Guild Battles, do keep in mind that they will only help you win, NOT help boost your abilities. And that's where pierce/resistance gems come in.

Gems naturally require something to place them in, and can't be recycled as the runes can be, so be VERY picky about where you put them in, especially because they are harder to get your hands on than piercing gems! Right now there's only 1 armor with 2 rune-slots and that is the Commander's Bone Plate (conquest battle rank 12 reward). For PvP purposes, 2 slots are godly once you have your attack and defense above 2000 total, so it's well worth the effort! The only weapon with 2 slots that I know of is Dukes Bone Blade (conquest rank 18 O.o )... so I'd recommend aiming for a 1 slot weapon with high stats, e.g. Kessaran's Living Death. Of all the gem types, by far the most important ones for Guild Battles are the physical ones, so I will focus on those for the time being. They come in 2 types who look awfully similar (picture has 3 instead of 1 bar, and the name has only 1 extra S in it).

1. Bronze ingot of physical piercing. Requires 9 shards to complete in alchemy. Provides 15 pierce. Can be found on Fenix, Urmek, Poseidon, Vorak, Kessaran, Abomination, Baal.

2. Bronze ingots of physical piercing. Requires 16 shards to complete in alchemy. Provides 25 pierce. Can be found on Fenix, Urmek, Vorak, Kessaran.

3. Bronze ingot of physical resistance. Requires 9 shards to complete in alchemy. Provides 15 resistance. Can be found on Urmek, Poseidon, Vorak, Kessaran, Abomination, Baal.

4. Bronze ingots of physical resistance. Requires 16 shards to complete in alchemy. Provides 25 resistance. Can be found on Urmek, Vorak, Kessaran.

NOTE! Instead of purely hunting for the +25 gem oreshards, I'd recommend selecting item-hunts that have runes as a side-effect. Here's the list.

- Fenix has the best offhand for pvp (50/55).

- Urmek has the best helmet for pvp (50/72 !!! O.o )

- Poseidon has a spell (30/38), the best spell in the game both for divine pierce and stats.

- Vorak has the best gloves in the game stat-wise, but these only allow a defensive gem. Knights Bone gauntlets (conquest rank 6) allows for offense gem, which is otherwise limited to weapon only, and is much easier to get. With that in mind, I can't recommend farming here.

- Kessaran's weapon is the best attacking weapon (50/28), and also has 140 DP.

Element based defensive gems also exist, but are a doublesided blade. Personally I'm not in favor of this so will not implement them into this document (yet!). If it's to your liking, feel free to use them.
