You can post your views regarding vegetarian/vegan/other views about the offer by Petbarn to run a sausage sizzle to raise funds for vet care for our special needs and orphaned rabbits.  Please feel free to discuss and debate your views here.

We have transfered some posts regarding this discussion from the wall to this forum.

So if you had a pet dog or cat would you force them to be vegetarian? Kerrie

why do you say ppl 'force their dog to be vegetarian'? when I think we 'force ' our anaimals to do most what they do...like to walk on a lead, don't bite kids, don't eat birds, keeping them in a yard, feeding them a tin of food, don't poo in the neighbours yard...I love bunnies and have them in my family..I love ALL animals.. my dog is an eleven year old vegan....don't you think it is a little bit funny that you can save one animal but eat another....I would just like an answer so I can understand that thinking..take care

LIfestyle choices are very personal - we all have different paths to follow in this life and we all have our life purposes, this is what defines us and makes us who we are. These gentle creatures need our help, and we are destined to do what we can for them to improve conditions for them in some small but modest way. We cannot sit by and do nothing, we just need to chip away at the issues bit by bit. A debate on these sensitive but important points of view are best left for other forums.

Kristen Marie I'm with Jodie, I don't support Bryce And Judi so I can hear a debate about the political correctness of vegan dogs. I support them because I believe in what they are doing.

I seem to be having trouble accessing the link so I will just say here I do think it's very hypocrital to raise money for one animal with the death of another. Unfortunately though this is all too common in animal welfare circles. I hope you do at least take up the suggestion of serving some vegan sausages as well. I highly recommend the Linda McCartney sausages and they are available at The Radical Grocery Store in Brunswick. I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of Pippin.

We said we had an offer to run a "sausage sizzle" - in fact the lady organising them is vegetarian. and many have jumped to conclusions about this offer.   Is working for and getting paid by an organisation that rescues animals but also puts them to death regularly hypocritical?  Think about it as this is how most rescues work.
We have a no kill policy, and because of this we have huge vet bills and any constructive ideas to raise funds would be appreciated.  Helping us would be even better.  We need a fundraising committee to be formed, this way you will be contributing directly - we cannot do it all ourselves.
