| StompBox for the ipad general issues:
Question:
The sound quality is not great at all. Very low sound, can barely hear it with the headphones and volume turned all the way up and if you switch to another stompbox you get an unbearable screech
Answer:
If you are using old worn strings or have string buzz then excessive harmonics can be louder than the fundamental note making it hard to tune. Follow the manual and tune using harmonics at the 12th fret and the tuner will work fine.
StompBox attenuates distorted sounds when the connection type is set to ‘Headset\ to avoid unwanted feedback. If this attenuates too much try reducing the master volume slightly and changing to the connection type to ‘Amp’ The iRig interface seems to be much worse than the AmpKit for ffeedback.
Question
How come the input gain drops so much when a distortion/overdirve is applied, and is there any chance of adding a l/r pan for each track in the recorder?
Answer:
Distorted sounds are attenuated when the ‘Connection Type’ is set to ‘Headset’. You need to experiment with the settings to see which one of the two is best for you. If you turn down the main volume slightly you may well be able to use the ‘Amp’ setting which does not attenuate distorted sounds.
The reason we do this is that some interfaces such as the iRig has some sort of induction thing going on where a certain amount of the output is leaked through to the input causing feedback. This is not as apparent on the AmpKit and is completely non existent with the Cakewalk UA-1G USB interface.
