OFFLINE | This is going to be an interesting topic , asking the relevant questions as to why we havent as yet been given our facilities to warrant the participation numbers of the code , is it another political game being played at the expense of football in the South Coast ? and how Long are we having to wait ? anyone that can enlighten this topic please feel free to do so , |

Time to stand up Football fans on the South Coast for too long we have been left out of funding, too long have we been pushed aside, too long have we had promises from Wollongong City Council and our Mayor on improvements coming our times up.
Football South Coast has been formed to restructure the game well Unification started in 2006 and the board has been in 3 years now and we might as well be back in 2006.
We need a ground in the area so the State league clubs and all other footballers can paly on under any conditions every other council with state league clubs seem to be able to get these facilities except us.
Talk to your local politicians, State and Federal members we are an association of 12,000 players but we are also an association of 100,000 supporters time to stand up and make a difference.

as quoted ,
Just caught up with Jock and Rob to share our frustrations on the lack of top class football facilities in the Illawarra. Once the bugs are ironed out in South Coast Football forum it will be a winner and give us all a say. Time for ALL stakeholders to have input in how the game progresses. The game must be governed by people who are accountable to all stakeholders rather than the Faceless Men who operate with no accountability. New CEO of FFA, David Gallop gets how important the fans are and we need some of this in the Illawarra. |

OFFLINE | Couldnt have been said better , as some serious questions need to be asked as to What has been happening ? and why arent the public knowing of any outcomes in the near future , we cant afford to be sitting around Dormant and waiting for results to be h
appening , This topic and others need to be voiced, seems lack of drive could be the Fundamental Factor in this , Meaining Questions need to be Raised as to who is Representing the Football Community and why nothing has been done for such a Long time? Personally i like to see progress and not stagnation that seems to be occuring , Unity is important for a cause , But Unity also needs to get Results , FSC is united and what has been done to Date , its become a tug o war with Politics , again and at whos Expense , Footballs Expense , and that means we have to keep on the Backburner and Wait Again ? i dont think so , not this time , Action is required to get results and there are many ways to acheive results , Huge Support and Numbers and Transparency in everything that gets done ..Hopefully for the sake of the code we get some positive results and Notifications sent out to all the Football community in general that have a stake holding in the Sport , Lets make that Difference Now and Express your Views on this Matter and others , |

OFFLINE | Who Remembers this article from The Illawarra Mercury
wasnt that supposed to be 2013 Season ? i was sure it was supposed to be for the West Dapto Proposal ?
HeadLines Read like this
Dapto the front runner for Illawarra football centre
By MARIO CHRISTODOULOU
Dec. 28, 2011, 10:18 a.m.
"Football South Coast chairman Eddy De Gabriele at the site of a possible new home for Illawarra football
on Cleveland Rd, Dapto.
The region’s peak football body, Football South Coast, has offered a glimpse into what its proposed $7.5million mega-football centre might look like as it prepares a submission for State Government funding.Football South Coast is approaching the end of a feasibility study as it explores a number of relevant factors, including site constraints and future demand.Wollongong City Council has been aiding the body and is engaged in a geotechnical study to establish soil quality.Stage one, which will include the construction of four fields, is expected to cost about $2.5 million, while stage two, which will include the remaining facilities, is expected to cost about $5million.The South Coast’s football fraternity has been playing on borrowed grounds ever since it handed over Wollongong’s Brandon Park, then the home of the Wollongong Wolves, to the University of Wollongong in 2001.Between 2002 and 2005, the State Government poured $2.5million into an alternative site at Lysaghts Oval in Figtree, but the funding fell dramatically short of the more than $10million needed to develop the area.Since then, Football South Coast, now the peak football body in the region, has had its eye on a parcel of land alongside Dapto’s Cleveland Rd.The organisation hopes to build a 24-field complex on the site, which is flood-prone and therefore not suitable for housing but could accommodate a sporting ground. The complex would service the nearby West Dapto land release area which is expected to house 17,000 dwellings and 50,000 people over the next 20 years. Football South Coast chairman Eddy De Gabriele said the complex could accommodate 24 football fields, thus allowing for both junior games and large-scale A-League matches. He said he hopes to have the proposal ‘‘sitting on the minister’s desk’’ by the end of January.‘‘There is no question about the demographics of the area, the sport is in high growth and high demand and there is no general facility,’’ he said.‘‘We could have some fields to play on, with a basic facility, for the season of 2013.’’Minister for the Illawarra, Greg Pearce, who is also responsible for public works, has said he was eagerly awaiting the proposal."
We Are Still Eagerly waiting for Some Facility to be provided after all the Bullshit , . there is still nothing around and We Are In 2013 and definately not playing on any facility |

give us a town hall meeting for illawarra football where the people running the game have to explain and take accountability to the fans whats going on and the lack of any strategic direction for our game in the Illawarra
- Steven Jackson
I googled your name and found you were on the Football South Coast Board......and involved with the Wolves when the drama of Lysaghts Oval was all happening....And your here talking about direction and accountability.... seriously!! What did you do!! All I see here is negative attitude and demoralisation of other people who are actually trying to make a difference.... People like yourself just ruin the sport for everyone.

You will also see i resigned from the Football South Coast board. You should ask around and get the facts before you make comments. Our message is about accountability. Where and to who are the Board of FSC accountable. Who are you Steve? Myself, Warwick Young and Vic Cuocco stepped in and saved the Wolves and raised money to keep Wolves and Stingrays going when nobody else was doing anything. I ceased my association with the Wolves at the end of season 2012 and left them with $60k in the bank, all the debts paid off and the seniors finished 4th in the comp. I also got 2X 100000 litre water tanks for Cringila and council funding for pumps and drainage so that the Wolves had a decent place to play as they have no home ground. If you think i didn't fight to keep Lysaghts then you are misinformed. First off what have you done for football in the Illawarra? How much time, effort and personal funds have you put into the game. Were you at the Wolves trivia night to raise funds last Friday? Have you any idea of the promises that have been made and broken by the people that run the game. I can show you e mails where the new CEO of FSC was a definite starter as a director of South Coast Wolves and promises were made to this effect. Never happened. Where are Wollongong Olympic going to play next year as they really got screwed in the Lysaghts debacle. Thats the problem mate there are a whole group of people like you that just have no idea whats going on. Ask Ray Vilestra about my credentials about saving the Wolves. Ask Trevor Morgan, now youth grade coach at West Sydney Wanders what we did to keep the elite pathway going. Ask Glen Fontana, technical Director of FSC. Ask the CEO of FNSW how hard i fought to keep elite football pathways going in the Illawarra. I asked a FSC Director an important question on the week end at the Port/Tarra game. The question was "who does the elite development if the Wolves aren't around. You want his answer - "nobody". If you think this is acceptable and that the football community should not be concerned then so be it. As to the home of football. 2 important questions. What happens between now when it is completed ie where do the Wolves, Stingrays and Wollongong Olympic play because Wollongong Council was prepared to fund improvements to JJ Kelly park to allow them all to play there. Secondly, what are the state govt and the Wollongong council up to about funding given that there are already a large amount of contributed funds from the developers. See post from Rob Di Peitro.

Mate! I just want the game to succeed and for my kids to have a pathway. All I see on this forum is negatives about what happened in the past, broken promises etc. etc.... Why don't you put you passion towards local government. The Wolves are important and do deserve more. Local and state government is to blame not the people involved in football.
Football Forum South Coast
Steven its not about Negativity , its about transparency , and well yes the FSC board was put together for the benefit of Football in the Area and to unite and get results , But so far all the Unity of the Football clubs and numbers up ,as in politics Numbers should equate to results . FSC have had the numbers for 5 years and what is there to show in them 5 Years? you can Google more information regarding many articles and judge for yourself . no need to put down a person that i also know and his history in the south coast regarding football over the years as these people have had a long and extensive history in the game and put in huge efforts in the past as Blood Sweat and tears. the Wolves are the Pinnicle in Football Excellence and is the Pathway to ensure our Juniors do have a place to be playing at the Higher level . The problem is that in such a long history from when the Wolves and Wollongong Olympic were asked to Vacate the Brandon Park Facilitity to make way for the Campus East extension the so called Innovation Campus . that was the Historical Downfall of the Wolves and History has shown i can give you some interesting links to read or google it Steven. People are wanting the same thing at the end Steven and its not about poiniting to individuals in this Plight. Unity and wanting something to be announced and started , Enough is Enough , But i do sense in your Defensive Mannerisims that you have some connection to FSC let me know if i am wrong , but your responses here and in the FSC pages are leading me that direction as to some connection. either way it doesnt matter i only want to progress but i dont think the Football Public is going to be prepared to Wait for the Slow Train to Dapto Proposal when the Fast Track Approach can be Implemented Now.. as i said earlier i can post some very interesting Links from the Media in the History of it all , this leads to frustration ,and right now its where it is , But at who that Frustration is focused upon would be up the the individuals posting. easy to blame others. but please make sure your information is correct. Work for the Benefit of the game. we all want the same outcome. Do you think Steven that the SFC Board has given the Football Community Results ? if so point them Facilities out to me as i dont see any . have they put in place proposals , YES , A- Z too many ,, end Result Zero , so instead of being a Gunna attitude we need the Lets get this Done for the Benefit of the Game Attitude. we need to Move forward and be moving in the Same Direction. its not negativity attitude that i have Steven but more Ill put the Fire Up Ya Ass now attitude to see how fast things get Done. Pressure is good and for people to have their say is equally important. accountability is needed for that pressure , when individuals have role and dont perform no matter the position or organisation ,if it be private or public sector , are these people to remain stagnated in them positions ? My Opinion is that everyone seems to think that Playing Politics gives them the right for excuses to create Illusions and broken Promises. Simple numbers and majority should Equate to results . but for some odd reason it doesnt seem to in this code and thats what needs to change, back to the History of the Code in the South Coast and Australia. But seeing the Crowds at both Games one with Manchester and the other with Liverpool could be the start to let everyone know what Code is the World Game.

Martin I don't have any connection with anyone at FSC, just done lots of research and read the FSC minutes. I have only recently moved to Wollongong from Sydney and don't know that many people. The politics are the same irrespective of the location. Sponsorship is hard and the politics are even harder.
Football Forum South Coast
Welcome to Wollongong Steven . and hope you become an active member of the Football Community. well i think you and Martin myslef and others you will meet in the near future , but Welcome to the Gong . cheers |
