This is the one my mother uses and they come out wonderfully tasty!!!


4 c. White Flour
4 t. Baking Powder
1 1/2 t. Salt
4 T. Fat (could be lard or Crisco)
1 c. water or enough to make a medium dough ( Hot from the Tap)
Mix flour, salt and baking powder together; add fat and mix well. Add water. Knead dough for 5 minutes. Let stand 1/2 hour covered. Form into round, flat balls; and roll with rolling pins into a round shape about 1/8 inch thick. Cook on griddle, on top of stove, or in the oven. Brown on both sides....

When Mom teaches her grand children she teaches them the was she was taught. That being with 3 fingers scoop of fat, pinch of salt, etc. Love to see them learning...
