Flour Tortillas by Dorene Rael Yeatts

Flour Tortillas

2 Cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 Cup vegetable oil
1/2 Hot, Hot Water

Combine dry ingredients in medium size mixing bowl stirring with a fork.
Add vegetable oil, mix in with a fork to stay sifted.
Slowly pour in water, mixing with your hands to form a ball, as you would pie crust,
Kneed with the palm of your hands same as pie crust.
Leave in mixing bowl appx 10 minutes covered with damp paper towel.
Have your griddle on warm, form small balls appx meatball size.
With rollin pin, roll balls into tortilla shape, keep some dry flour on rolling to help prevent dough from sticking to tortilla dough.
Heat over low heat. Let tortilla bubble slightly, flip tortilla over and heat other side.
Try to flip tortilla over only once.

NOTE: Do not add too much water, you do not want your dough to be sticky.
