Tonight brushstrokes were ominous, grey and foreboding. He made her forget sunsets of salmon and custard. She found herself remembering the way he brushed his teeth, dragging his toothbrush in crooked, erratic motions and the how he used too much toothpaste. She wished he would think of her on a busy workday morning and keep the apathetic "uh-huhs" and "really dears?" for old age.
