Well, it seems that the Java plugin is necessary for most webpages anymore. But there are others unique to some sites, like Hulu, I think they have their unique plugin to stream their video, as does ABC's site, and they've seemed 'safe' so far.

There are 2 I haven't updated that keep coming up.... Conduit and ETorrent?

There are 2 I haven't updated that keep coming up.... Conduit and ETorrent?

I've never heard of them. Are they particular to any specific website?

That's what I tend to do with I don't quite understand what's popping up. Internet Software-Safety gets so friggen convoluted anymore that it can sometimes be hard to tell what's safe and what's potentially malicious. Some people get frustrated with me when they send me links to something they want me to see, and I refuse because the site wants to install yadda yadda on my system and I refuse to trust it. Too bad, yanno?

Conduit is an app site.  And anything with "torrent" in the name is usually a download app.

Conduit is an app site.  And anything with "torrent" in the name is usually a download app.
