- What is the way to make a reservation?
With direct booking, you can save moneysince there are no hidden fees. We occasionally offer special promotions, too,available only to our guests who book directly with us. However, forconvenience, you may also book a room at our normal rates with booking agentssuch as Booking.com and Hostels.com.
- I’ve never heard of Wendy Hotel – is it new?
The hotel has been around for a longtime, but has recently changed owners. You may have heard of Queen of HeartHotel or Finnegans II Hotel, which were the former names. However, the newowner has made some significant upgrades to the property and it’s now betterthan ever, with new sheets and towels and more comfortable mattresses.
- What if I made a reservation but I need to cancel it?
If you give us a 24-hour notice, wewill refund 100% of your deposit. If less than 24-hours, one night will becharged to your credit card. No-shows will be charged for one night, as well.
- Do I need to present any identification to check-in?
Yes, you will need to have a passportor government-issued photo ID. It is a requirement everywhere in Vietnam.
- Is the hotel near the center of town?
Yes, we are just a 3 minute walk fromHoan Kiem Lake and steps away from the Old Quarter. We are in a quiet location,though – so it’s convenient to everything while still ensuring our guests of agood night’s sleep.
- Do you have any non-smoking rooms?
Wendy Hotel is a 100% smoke-free hotel.Smokers may use the 6[SUP]th[/SUP] floor balcony to smoke, if desired, as wellas outside of the front lobby.

- What is your policy on children?
Children age 12 or under stay for freein the parent’s room.
Yes, we do. There are two steps leadingfrom the sidewalk to the lobby. Otherwise, all but one of our rooms areaccessible by elevator. The room on the 6[SUP]th[/SUP] floor requires walkingone flight of stairs.
- Do you offer Wi-Fi or Internet access?
Yes, we have high-speed Wi-Fithroughout the hotel, in all rooms and common areas. Most of our rooms are alsoequipped with desk-top computers for the use of our guests. There is noadditional charge for either Wi-Fi or Internet.
- Can the rooms accommodate a family of 3 or 4?
Our deluxe double rooms come witheither two twin beds or one queen-size bed, and are large enough to accommodateone extra bed, which could be shared by one or two children. If an extra bed isrequired for an adult or child age 13 or older, a $10 extra charge will be charged.
- Do the rooms come with hair dryers? Anything else?
Yes, the rooms come equipped with manyamenities, including hair dryers, cups and saucers, a hot water boiler formaking tea or coffee, alarm clocks, bedside lamps, refrigerators with minibar,cable TV, towels and linens and toiletries. All rooms have air conditioners andheaters.
- Do the rooms have bath tubs or showers?
All our rooms have hot-water showers.
- Do you serve breakfast? Is it good?
Yes, breakfast is always included andyes, it’s good! Guests have their choice of eggs fixed the way you like them,with toast and fresh fruit or juice. We also have pancakes and Vietnamesenoodles and soup for breakfast. Coffee and tea is served with breakfast andavailable all day for our guests.
- When is check-in time? Can I arrive early and get a room?
Check-in time is normally at 2:00 PM.If you arrive early, if we have a room that is ready, you can check in early,but we cannot guarantee that a room will be free. If the room is not yetavailable, you are welcome to relax in our lobby or store your luggage until theroom is available. If you require an early check-in, you can pay for the nightbefore and the room will be ready when you arrive at the hotel.
- When is check-out time? Can I check-out late?
Check-out time is normally at 12 PM. Wemay be able to accommodate guests with a later check-out, depending on whetherthe room is already reserved for another guest, but we cannot guarantee it. Anyguest wanting to stay after check-out time until 6:00 PM will be charged 50% ofthe room rate unless prior arrangements have been made. Any guest wanting tocheck-out after 6:00 PM will be charged 100% of the room rate.
- Can I store my luggage at the hotel after I check out or if I go on a tour?
Yes, we will store your luggage for youat no additional charge.
- Do you ever offer promotions?
Yes, on occasion, we may run a special.Check our website to see what promotions we are offering.
- I’m arriving in Hanoi by bus. How do I get to the hotel?
We are not far from the Long Bien busstation, though other buses may drop you off at other locations. Let us know whenyou will be arriving and where to find you, and we will pick you up and takeyou to the hotel free of charge. Otherwise, you can take a taxi for about US$2.00.Be sure to take a metered taxi such as Mai Linh or Taxi Group!
- I’m arriving in Hanoi by train. How do I get to the hotel?
We are about 15 minutes from the trainstation by taxi. If you let us know when you will be arriving, where you arecoming from and your train number, we will meet you at the train station andtake you to the hotel free of charge. Otherwise, you can take a taxi for aboutUS$4.00. Be sure to take a metered taxi such as Mai Linh or Taxi Group!
- I’m arriving in Hanoi by airplane. How do I get to the hotel?
Our hotel is about 40 kilometers fromNoi Bai Airport. If you let us know what time you will be arriving, where you are coming from and your flight number,we can have our driver meet you at the airport as you exit Customs andImmigration. Depending on traffic, it takes 45 to 90 minutes from the airportinto the city. There is a surcharge for airport pick-up. Otherwise, you cantake public bus #17 from the airport to Long Bien bus station. From there, wecan pick you up and take you to the hotel free of charge. Depending on traffic,it takes from 2 to 3 hours from the airport into the city by pubic bus.
- Did I hear something about cooking classes?
You might have! We welcome you to signup for a cooking class with one of our staff, who happen to be excellentVietnamese chefs! Get up early and go to the market to shop for vegetables,fruits and produce, learn about Vietnamese traditions and culture, then returnto the hotel and learn to prepare a delicious meal. It’s a fun day of learningto cook healthy and delicious food and will leave you with a full stomach andgood memories.
- Can you help me arrange for tours?
Yes, we have a tour desk at the hoteland we are happy to help you make arrangements for any tour or onward travelfrom Hanoi to other parts of Vietnam and throughout Southeast Asia. If you havelimited time, we can arrange for a city tour of Hanoi, or help you choose theright tour to other locations, including Halong Bay, Sapa / Bac Ha, the PerfumePagoda, Tam Coc, Ninh Binh and beyond. We work with several well-regardedtravel agencies in Hanoi (and none that are not well-regarded), as we want ourguests to have only the best tours. We charge less commission than many of ourcompetitors. This means that you’ll get the best tour for the best price.
- Can you get me a train, bus or flight ticket to my next destination?
Yes, we are happy to make these arrangements for you. As with our tours, we charge less commission than many ofour competitors, so you’ll get the same tickets but at a better price.
