LEEUWARDEN. 7.200 instead of 21.678 in Paris. Reasons: Too close to WDS (1 September instestead of 1 October), 2. Too expensive. 3. Leewarden not a Paris at all
Some other Ideas ?

Winter Melody Siberians I dont think the date is what is really matter, but sure WDS and EDS shows are way too expensive. I can't enter dog in first deadline as I never know who will be in coat to go, so waiting to the last day mean pay 100 euro for first dog and 95 for every other !!!! How many dogs a normal breeder can we can enter than ?

Danielle Boshouwers maybe for dutch owners bad judges......
Thursday at 14:44 · Unlike · 5 people
Amandine Wattel Leeuwarden is in the North of Netherlands, many Dutch judges and for example CAC Show for group IX is on Friday and European Winner is on Sunday !!! Entries are very expensive and we have to book an additional room because both shows don't follow each other or make the road again if we want to sleep at home. These are costs more.

Oleg Bochkov Winter Melody Siberians - for russian exibitors the entry fee is only 5% of the total amount. Our standard expenses for the participation and travel from Russia for one person with one dog - 1200-1500 Euro.

Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen Yes, the entry in many breeds is very disappointing. I believe the reason is that it is too close to the Paris World Show, many exhibitors won't do two big travels within such a short period. Besides, it is not holiday season any more, so "normal" people have to work, too. Still, 7000 dogs is quite a big show.

Geronimo de la Parure Hey, don't you rememeber what a mess was Paris? I'm 100% sure that Leeuwarden will be better and 7000 dogs is MUCH BETTER than the stupid waiting in some breeds in WDS Paris...

Jaroslava Poulova Definitively both WDS and EDS were too close this year. Neither WDS or EDS should be in "high summer season" when prices of flights, ferries and hotels are on their maximum. In my oppinion Paris probably didn't deserve such a high entry and Leeuwarden deserved more dogs, but Paris was the world show which is more prestigious after all and that's the deciding factor for many exhibitors that have to travel far. Both shows had early deadlines and too high entry fees, I hope the organisers of our future EDS & WDS shows will think hard about these factors...

Marjo Puranen I´m taking one dog from Finland to the show and like that the expenses are not THAT big; my flight, 160 €, shibas flight 140 €, accommodation 250 € near Leeuwarden and one night at the Airport hotel 70 € and of course the entry fees. Looking forward to the show!

Maria Evteeva I want to say I'm very sorry for Dutch KC, as in my opinion the show commettee did it's best to make the EDS THE event. The judges' list is IMPRESSIVE, the oline entry was clear and easy and the show com. was increadibly quick responding to the mails. I really hope it'll be a wonderful show - despite the low entry.

Olga Andrianova I am too agree both with Maria Evteeva and with Paula Heikkinen - and I hope that it can be interesting show, despite a small number of entries.
I myself go without dogs – only to look.
And the main thing «the trigger on start» - to go or not to go in Leeuwarden personally for me there was a program of the Netherlands' Cairn Terrier Club (NCTC).
At them Anniversary of Club and at those who is interested in this breed will be possibility
to see not only Euro Dog Show and National САС, but also to visit the Club Championship after which the 60th Anniversary Dinner, next day the health symposium, and separately – Cairn’s Terrier Day will take place. It is worthy that to go!
I by the way, think that if the Russian National Breed Clubs or associations of type the Russian Terrier Union will add such practice to the arsenal,
also will start to think of it already now
in 2016 number of entries and the visitors, wishing will arrive on WDS to Moscow much more!

Paul H Stanton I feel sorry for the Dutch KC who have worked so hard already to make this show a success, think there are many reasons why the entry is not as high as was hoped for, most exhibitors do not have unlimited amounts of money, it was not in Amsterdam and maybe many exhibitors were too tired and unhappy after the Paris WDS?

Inna Blayvas I think that the main problem of EDS is the date! 1/9 is the start of school year in many countries thus the parents have to stay at home, thus millions of people end their vacations at the end of August and it makes these dates being the most expensive for flights!! And of course its too close to WDS - wire-haired breeds owners cant keep the coats in show condition for such period. No enough accommodations close to show...

Ante Lučin I must say that Gerard Jipping did a great job with advertising the show and I am sure if the entries were open for a week or two more the numbers would be much better. Unfortunately after the WDS most of the people needed at least a week to come back to reality and lots of them just missed the entry. Anyhow, I am sure it will be a great show!

Natalia Leonova ))) I sure - Leewarden will be much better that Paris))) But problems with hotels are... And like i know from my clients - Paris wds was very difficult for Russian peoople. Only my ANO"organza" helped about 100 person to go to Paris. And after so hard work not so many people goping spend so much many for hard long trip. and not so many people hoping to get objective results. i know it becouse i have clients. it will happened in future with many famous shows

Natalia Leonova .Some hotels accept some not. in general was hard show - from the beginning - to get catalogue till parking... buses had parking place - around one km from show - difficult for moving with boxes, tables and dogs... Iwas few times in Leewarden in show - i like very much. Good place aqgain problems with hotels.

Oleg Bochkov Ingrid Isabella Borchorst - Agree with you, usually Netherlands has excellent shows, hope this EDS will be also properly organized. As for WDS 2016, Russia will host it. Just today only in a few moscow hotels dogs are allowed and I am not sure about auto camping possibility near the showground.

Kelly Hair Too bad there are only 15 Irish Terriers, however, I am looking forward to the show in Leewarden. The Netherlands always has well organized, clean shows. Never had a problem with hotels in the Netherlands and use (www.booking.com) to book so I know the pet policy. Too bad so many people wasted their time and money on the poorly organized show in Paris.
