OFFLINE | Can individuals, organizations and countries be considered subsystems of a larger system? If so, how are they interrelated? Where does one subsystem begin and the other end? Is there overlap? How is the system influenced by the environment in which it is located?
I look forward to watching the discussion unfold. |

OFFLINE | I come at this question from my background in organizational development/psychology as well as humanitarian development and response. I have spent nearly 40 years in international living and working.
Beginning at the individual level, there is an interconnectedness in all of us - friends, family, neighborhood, society, community or work. If speaking from a clinical, behavioral psychologist background, one could use the term "subsystem". In asking where one begins and another ends, I would suggest thinking in terms of Venn Diagrams. This is more appropriate approach than thinking in linear connection terms.
The "system" is influenced by the environment in which it operates. Again, there are multiple levels, depending on personal worldview, local culture, work culture, national culture. All have a series of norms that interact on decisions and actions. These norms will be different based on history, religion, identity source, etc.
This is a starter.
