On an impulse, I bought an e-cigarette.  Ever heard of them?

Only had to pay $4.95 for S&H ... that triggered the impulse ... and got it yesterday.

Pretty remarkable.  It looks, feels, and works like a cigarette.  Has a USB plug to recharge it and it even glows when you puff on it.

The cool thing is ... it works like a nicotine patch.  When you inhale, it delivers water vapor and nicotine.  AND you can decrease the level of nicotine over time until you're just puffing on water vapor.  It also seems to be a whole lot cheaper that buying cig's.

When compared to the real deal, the only downside (and this just may be me) is that when I've tried the patches and now the e-cig, I have some incredibly vivid and powerful dreams.

But that ain't all bad either

The brand I got:

I saw one when the real live Allison DuBois lit one up on an episode of the real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

It does look the like real thing, red glow & smoke too!

Good luck with it Scott, hope it helps!

I got talking about this with coworkers, most of them whom are only in their 20s. It seems to me that older generations are far more likely to try this than the younger generations who only seem to be smoking primarily for image/presentation purposes. If I were still smoking, I'd definitely consider this.

All the people I know that use the e-cigs are in their 20's, but it doesn't seem that they're trying to quit smoking.  They just want something to smoke indoors when they can't use the real stuff.

So how's it going, Scott? From one smoker to another, I know I can say to you that quitting is one of the worst things I've ever attempted and you will understand. I haven't had a cigarette for over two weeks, but I wake up each morning thinking I can get up and have a cup of coffee and a smoke and I'm so annoyed when I remember that there are no cigs in the house. I want one so badly right now that I cannot stand it and yet I hope I will.

Good luck, honey. I'm really rooting for you.

I have a friend who told me about the e-cigs. She said they come with different filters or plugins whatever you call them with differing levels of nicotine. She said that she knew someone who tried it and he got a lung infection.

rooting for you too Scott.

I always wonder when I see these commercials though, how good can it be to be inhaling liquid vapors directly into your lungs?  I would worry about infections and or pneumonia.
