If what Farmer saw is accurate reporting, those teachers should be fired IMMEDIATELY!!

They can't be fired, they have a union contract. Here are 2 articles - posted by both ends of the political spectrum - that shows that it is not that easy to fire a tenured teacher. Granted I know the articles are about New York but the union contracts are near identical across the country.

When I was a senior in high school, Senior English was super easy, no homework, no class discussion, no opening the book at all. The teacher was 2 years away from retirement and she would sit there doing nothing. The class was a free-for-all. The school tried to fire her but the union filed suit and kept delaying the court hearing waiting for her to get to retirement. But I do have to say, I learned more in that class than any other I took, because I would bring in my own books to read, a lot of history, science and agriculture.

oh they'll be penalized come the next election cycle.
