When you first enter the game, Jijimon asks you a series of questions. Depending on how you answer, you will be given an Agumon or a Gabumon to start your mission. Mission? Yes, you are chosen to save File Island by reuniting all the Digimon who has left File City, consumed by an unknown virus.

Oh wait...This is Digimon Masters Online?...Crud I messed up and thought this was Digimon W*rld!!

Ehem. So here I am again your personal Digimon Informant Gennai-san....no wait that's not me either. D: ANYWAY.

Digimon raising is a really broad topic, it starts from hatching all the way to seeing it grow into a huge dino/robot/rock/insect thingy...But here I am to try and explain, and with your help, explore the secrets of raising such beautiful (and sometimes putrid....Well unless we'll get a Sukamon for a mercenary anyway) creatures.

...........................................................................
Part 1: The Hatching
...........................................................................

Digimon Masters Online's Digivolution system is frankly much simpler than the PSX games of old. It follows a somewhat linear path with small branches in Digivolution. But it's method of obtainment is quite a large part of it in itself.

So let's start with obtaining a Digimon! (yayyyyyyyyyyy)

Now if you've done the tutorial "properly", you would've been able to have a first-hand fake experience on hatching a Digi-egg. In reality, it's not that easy.

First let us have a run-down of factors making it difficult:

1) The Mercenary Digi-egg
-This item is not a quest drop from any monster carrying it, meaning that the success rate of obtaining it is diminished by the level gap system. Add-in the fact that this is actually quite a rare item, and you have an item which you only have so little chances to obtain.

For a list of what Digi-Eggs qualify to be hatched please refer to: http://www.fbulletin.com/forum/general_item_types_101-18752.html

2) The Data
-Each Digi-egg needs data inserted into it for it to be hatched. This varies from 1/attempt to 5/attempt. Take for example Drimogemon, he needs 1 beast data/attempt, so to get a basic 3/5 Drimogemon, you need at least 3 beast data. Compare that to Gabumon which needs 5 beast data/attempt, at least 15 beast data for a basic 3/5. That sure starts to add up isn't it? Factor in that the "Data" item is only obtainable by scanning Digi-eggs of "/DATA" types and the fact that these Digi-eggs are also part of normal drops, again meaning that their drop rate is affected by the level gap system, you have another item that is close to having obtaining limits.

3)The hatching Process
-Every insertion data has a chance to break the Digi-egg.
>WHAT!? WHAT ABOUT ALL THOSE LONG DAYS OF HARD FARMING AND LEVELLING MY WEAK KUNEMON AND DRIMOGEMON FOR THAT BEAUTIFUL GABUMON EGG? IT SUDDENLY DISAPPEARS!?
-Yes. It does disappear. Meaning just to get the Digimon of your desire, you will really spend blood sweat and tears getting it. But it's part of most Korean MMORPGs out there, hard grinding at it's best. :>

4)The Size
-Tameable Digimons come in different sizes...They are usually connoted as x/5 where x is number of successful Data Insertions.
-The smallest possible Digimon (as of this guide) is 3/5, this is the minimum number of successful Data Insertions to hatch an egg. These also have the lowest possible stats.
-The medium sized Digimon is 4/5. These have better stats than 3/5 but is slightly harder to obtain. They're usually the best sizes for both stats and being economical.
-The largest Digimon is 5/5. These are the strongest of the three, but the hardest to obtain.
-Dylan shows up some small stat comparisons between a 3/5 and a 4/5 in this picture.

Very big difference for Ultimate.

So what's the point of saying all of this? If you have no egg that has recently hatched, there's no point in you reading any further. :3 Good luck egg hunting!......

...........................................................................
Part 2: The Stages
...........................................................................

Cool! So you've returned with your newly hatched Elecmon!...I'm pretty sure you've gotten through some reaaaaaally hard trouble getting it. But that's a darn fine 4/5 Elecmon you got there.

Now you have your 2nd bulk of the whole thing, Raising your Digimon.

First off all Digimons start off from Level 1. Yes it sucks, yes after all that hard work getting it, you're going back to Wood Beach Park to kill some poor Koromons and Upamons and those other babies. Yes you're gonna slowly have to grind your way up because you already used up your quests....that's reality. :3

So after getting your Digimon to Level 11, your Champion form is unlocked! (yayyy) and you realize, wait, MY ULTIMATE IS LOCKED WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!?!?!?!??!??!!?!?!?!??!?!

Somehow this is another one of the complexities of this game. All Mercenary Digimons farmed within the game only have One Stage unlocked, almost as though it's only there to whet your appetite.

"BUT I WANT MY OSUM SABERLEOMON HELP ME PLX!!!!!!!!!!!"

Well there is a way for that cool Leomon of yours become an even cooler SaberLeomon, but it's definitely NOT. GONNA. BE. EASY.

Unlocking a Stage costs Evoluters. These Evolters come at a low low price of 50 Digicores. Now you may be wondering, "What are Digicores?". Well these are items you get from SCANNING Mercenary Digi-eggs.

"WAIT WHAT?! I SPENT HOURS FARMING ONE EGG AND YOU TELL ME I NEED MOARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!?!?!?!?!"

Yep, you need more. Lots and lots of it. 1 Mercenary Digi-egg has about an 85% of puking out 1 Digicore when you scan it, meaning it's not even a sure thing to get 50 Digicores in 50 Mercenary Digi-eggs. Of course there's always the item mall........................And you'll need more than one Digicore too......you need 3 for Ultimate and 6 for Mega depending on your Digimon. Certain Digimons seems to need 8 Evolters for their Mega-Forms instead like Berzemon and MetalGarurumon, more information should come out on Commercial to categorize these eggs.........ISN'T IT SO MUCH FUN?....

Of course the exception to this is Cash Mercenary Digital Eggs. These Eggs have a chance of spitting out a Digimon who can go up to 5/5 with Mega unlocked. Well the power of money truly rules Free-to-Play MMOs anyway......ehem.

So to get your beautiful Elecmon to SaberLeomon, you'll need to spend more blood, sweat, tears, time, and even stress to gather all the Evoluters you'll need.

...........................................................................
Part 3: The Showing-off
...........................................................................

Somehow you've managed to get that beautiful SaberLeomon...By stealing money from the wallets of your parents. (Guilty, Guilty, so many guilty people.) It's time to strut it off like a boss. All those blood sweat and tears...The time spent...Doesn't it bring you to tears? That, people, is what makes Korean games a little more worthwhile in the end. Amidst all the hardships, you pushed, you endured, you kept on going, showing your brave heart, opening your wings and flying high on your love...While Butterfly from Digimon Adventures 1 plays on the background...You start to be proud of yourself........

Then the prices of Evolters was lowered to a reasonable 3 Digicore/ea...........You finally find a reason to quit the game. xD!!!

Now a few more points important to Raising Digimons. These are more specific parts and can be skipped unless you really reaally love me your digimon.

...........................................................................
Part 4: Intimacy
...........................................................................

What is Intimacy?
-It is a rating of the affection of your Digimon to you. The rating is directly converted as to how much percent of your own stats is added to your Digimon's stats. For example, my Palmon and I have an intimacy of 63 and I have an attack stat of 100. That means my Palmon gains 63 points to her attack due to our forbidden love for each other.

What affects it?
-To note I have only observed small parts of what makes it rise or drop, I was promised someone will do a guide on Intimacy but it never came........ :< from what I gathered though:
1) Intimacy up - Fighting and defeating an enemy
2) Intimacy up - Leveling up
3) Intimacy down - letting your Digimon reach 15% of their max hp
4) Intimacy down - spamming commands that are on cooldown
5) Super Intimacy Down - dying
6) Super Intimacy Down - logging out. Yes Intimacy now resets to 0, 5, 10, or 15 whenever you log out. Sad sad. :< Our Digimons don't like us leaving them...

So far that's all what I have on Intimacy. :3

...........................................................................
Part 5: Skills
...........................................................................

Skills are...well they are quite basic in this game. None of them have any special effects such as paralysis and poison or the likes. Perhaps in the future they might get updated. Similarly Digimons only get 25 or so skill points for their forms. Once you upgraded a skill, you can't degrade it back so be very careful.

To maximize your skill points, I suggest levelling your favorite skill to 7, then go as far with the other one. You might ask "Why so?". This is because that obtaining an 8 on any one of the two skills leaves you with an unusable skill point of 1. That 1 point will become unusable FOREVER. So best be efficient yes? :3

-end-

SO THAT'S IT FOR MY ULTRA AWESOME GUIDE...Or not.

Anyways as usual, any comments, suggestions, alterations, typoclarifications, additions, subtractions, divisions, multiplications, implications, elicitations, trollinations etc are welcome. :3

its a good guide but i think you should add the type of eggs so new people wont try to hatch if they get an normal egg from a digimon instead of a mercenary

There edited Becky. :3

I forgot Khaled already posted the proper evolter values in a different thread. On commercial I'll try to scrounge up more info to further classify the ones needing 6 and 8 evolters for their Mega forms...
