OFFLINE | Not to be confused w/ a 'best of' list or anything like that but rather here is where we discuss which album in a particular band's discography that you feel perfectly defines who they are. I'll go first..
Gorguts - From Wisdom to Hate (Excellently meshes together the avant-garde concept of Obscura w/ the earlier primitive brutality of the Erosion of Sanity era. Thus bridging together the 'old' w/ the 'new' and still carving an identity all its own)
Carcass - Necroticism (Perhaps the biggest breakthrough for such a very 'young' band. Tastefully melodic and catchy yet w/o compromising the band's venomous aggression whatsoever. Possibly serves as the ubiquitous template for a lot of melo-death bands out there.. and when I say 'melo-death' I don't mean the 'pop' oriented, sing-songy **** on the Century Mediocre roster either)
Suicidal Tendencies - How Will I Laugh Tomorrow... (Hailed as the band's best release by a lot of fans and for a very good reason. This is where Mike Muir and co. dropped the adolescent angst of their more punk direction and progressed into something a bit more 'mature' by way of its deeply emotive intent. Further this where Rocky George's leads are utilized to great effect and lend the somber material a much more depressive and pensive atmosphere not usually found in a lot of the other thrash/crossover bands that permeated the era then.) |

 OFFLINE | Brokencyde - BC13
Set a new standard for how to review music and altered the rating system by making the good seem great and the awful look better. The album single handedly drug music standards to a new low and creating a larger gap between the mediocre and the terrible. Very important album. |

OFFLINE | i like burzums self titled a lot out of the rest of the releases. whenever i listen to it i REALLY feel like i'm listening to burzum.
death - leprosy. but thats just MY opinion. not interested in arguing about it. I just think that album has a lot of everything that they had done and were going to do eventually in one
ruiner - prepare to be let down. easily their best. everything before and after it was never quite as good (yet). who knows maybe they will return to that lyrical style again.
