1989 yilinda kuruldu . Türkiye'nin ilk demolarindan biri olan "Mortal Visions" 'i kaydetti
.. 1991'de Almanya'da çikan derleme bir albümde gruba yer verildi. .. Haziran 1991 'de Hollanda'li grup "Swazafix"i ülkemize davet ederek, iki konser verdi. .. Aralik 1991'de "End of Lunacy" adli ikinci demosunu dinleyicilerine sundu.Bu demo sayesinde yerli ve yabanci birçok dergide gruba yer verilmeye baslandi. .. "End of Lunacy", Amerika, Avrupa ve Uzakdogu ülkelerinde 300 kadar dergi ve radyo istasyonundan olumlu elestiriler aldi. .. Dünyanin en taninmis dergilerinden olan ve o zamanki müzik piyasasinin belli kriterlerini ortaya koyan "Metal Hammer" ve "Kerrang" Darkphase'e yer verdi. .. Amerika'dan " Wild Rags Records " ve " Urban Warfare Productions ", Almanya'dan ise " Ragnarök Distributions " demonun dagitimini üstlendi.
.. 13 Mart 1993'te "Laneth'li Konserler"de 2000 kisiye konser verdi .
.. 1994 yilina kadar konserler veren grup ilk albümünü kaydetti. .. Kisa sürede üçüncü baskisi tükenen albümleri "Waning Moon, Setting Sun " 17.000 'in üzerinde bir satisa ulasti. Bu, o yillarda sadece konserlerle promosyon yapabilen gruplar için büyük bir basari olarak nitelendirildi. .. Albüm tanitim konserleri, yerel konserlerin aksine dolup tasan Darkphase, yagmurlu havaya ragmen O.D.T.Ü stadyumunda 3.000 hayranina unutulmaz bir konser verdi . Daha sonra Türkiye'yi turladi...
.. 1995 yilinda Türkiye'nin en çok satan gençlik ve müzik dergisi "Blue Jean" okurlarinca, yilin en iyi üç grubundan biri olarak degerlendirildi.
Kimsesiz Çocuklar yararina ve geliri Thalassemia Dernegi"ne bagislanan konserler verdi.
.. 14 Subat 1996 tarihinde grup Türk Rock tarihinde bir ilke daha imzasini atti ve "Imperial Cancer Research Fund"in davetlisi olarak, Ingiltere - Londra'da basarili geçen bir solo konser verdi . Bu konserle grup Ingiltere'de çalan ilk Türk grubu ünvanini elde etti. Tereciye tere satti.
.. Grup büyük organizasyonlarda yer almayi sürdürerek Istanbul Ortaköy "Rock House"da Harley Davidson motorlarinin Türkiye tanitiminda özel davetli olarak 4.000 kadar izleyiciye konser verdi. .. Grup, elemanlarinin sirayla askere gitmesi nedeniyle uzunca bir süre hayranlarindan uzak kaldi.

.. Grup 14-16 Mart 2003 tarihlerinde, ülkemizden Erkin KORAY, Almanya'dan TANKARD ve MOURNING CARESS gibi gruplarin sahne aldigi Ankara Saklikent'te düzenlenen 6. Uluslararasi RockStation Festivali'nde onur konugu oldu .
Hemen ardindan topluluk 7 Mayis 2003 tarihinde ODTÜ bahar senliklerinde VEGA, MANGA, PENTAGRAM ve NIL KARAIBRAHIMGIL gibi isimlerle ayni sahneyi paylasti. Yillar sonra ODTÜ Stadyumunda seyircisiyle tekrar bulusan grup, yeni parçalari ile albüm hazirliginin sinyallerini verdi.
Mayis 2006 'da Ülkemizde konserler veren MSG (Michael Schenker Group) ile birlikte Ankara Saklikent'te çok basarili bir konser verdi, MSG elemanlarinin ve seyircinin takdirini kazandi.... ve çikacak olan albümün tanitimini yapti.
Darkphase efsanevi albumu "waning moon setting sun"in yayinlanisindan tam 13 yil sonra grup hayranlari icin bir tur zamanda yolculuk olan yeni album "daraphane"yi, aralik 2007'de piyasaya surdu...
Darphane'nin yayınlanmasıyla beraer grup güçlü organizasyonlarda yer aldi. Uuslararası Film festivali açılış gecesinde bakanların ve tanınmış sinemacıların önünde, TRT'den de canlı yayınlanan sürpriz bir performans gerçekleştirdi.
VE 2009 - DARKPHASE'İN 20nci YILI !!
2009 yılı itibariyle 20. yılını kutlamaya başlayan Darkphase, "Back to the Roots" konsepti ile eski sert, hızlı, agresif Darkphase thrash metal'ini tekrar hayranlarına sunmaya başladı.
Özel Darkphase t-shirtlerinin ve merchandise'ının hazırlandığı bu oluşum çok ilgi gördü.
Grubun davulcusu Tolga Ergin'e dünyaca ünlü baget firması Amerikan Ahead Drumsticks ve yine dünyaca ünlü firmalara üretim yapmış olan zil firması Samsun Cymbals sponsor oldu.
Back to the Roots adı verilen bir parti ile köklere dönüşün duyurusunu yapan topluluk sonrasında, 4 ekim 2009'da ülkemizin önde gelen gruplarından Black Tooth'un da katıldığı 12. Uluslararası Rock Festivali'nde, alman müzisyen DORO PESCH ile birlikte co-headliner olarak sahne aldı. Darkphase thrash'inin tekrar tadına bakan Darkphase hayranlarının tam not verdiği bu performansı, kapsamlı bir turne ve yepyeni bir Darkphase albümü ile taçlandıracak olan grup, 12 yeni şarkının deneme kayıtlarına başlamış durumda.
DARKPHASE
Darkphase was founded in 1989 and gave their first concert in 1991. Recorded Turkey's one of the first multichannel recorded demo "Mortal Visions"
In 1991 band's songs were chosen for a compilation album in Germany. They invited the Dutch band Swazafix to Turkey and played in two gigs with them.
"End of Lunacy", the second demo, was released in December 1991 which soon proved to be the first steps of a huge success.
Thanks to the quality of this demo, the band began appearing in many Turkish and International magazines.
"End of Lunacy" was sent to USA, Europe, and Far Eastern countries, and the band appeared more than 300 magazines and also many radiostations worldwide, with positive reviews.
Darkphase appeared in "Metal Hammer" and "Kerrang" the world's well-known heavy metal magazines which exposed the certain criterias of the music market of the period.
"Wild Rags Records" and "Urban Warfare Productions" from USA and "Ragnarok Dist" From Germany began distributing their "end of lunacy" demo, and reached mass amounts of people.
The band played infront of 2000 people on 13th March 1993 in "Laneth" concert series.
After various concerts in cities of Turkey, the band recorded their first studio album in 1994.
The album "Waning Moon Setting Sun"proved great success, selling more than 17.000 copies and printing 4 editions, the latter being in 2001 as a re*release.
The tour for the album was very successful and the bands each concert was sold-out. The band played infront of 3.000 people at the METU stadium despite the heavy pouring rain.
The band continued touring and meeting fans in cities like Adana, Eskisehir, Izmir, Istanbul and Bursa.
During the tour due to an unfortunate accident, the band lost their bass player Ogeda Cenikan.
After a period of confusion, the band decided to carry on in the memory of Ogeda and, played a memorial concert for him.
The band was voted as "one the best three bands in Turkey"by Turkey's leading and best selling music magazine Blue Jean's readers.
Being one of the Pioneers, they had their responsibilities and gave charity concerts. To name the most important ones; for the orphans and also for Ankara Thalassemia Association Funds.
On 14th December 1996, as another first in Turkish rock music history, the band went to London England, gave a solo concert as the special guest of "Imperial Cancer Research Fund" By this show, they became the first ever Turkish heavy-metal band to play a solo show in England Continuing to take part in large organisations the band played infront of 4.000 people at "Rockhouse"as a special guest of Harley Davidson Motorcycles.. Between 1998 and 2001 due to the military obligations of the band members, the activities came to a halt but in 2003 they released a promo cd to celebrate their re-union.
On 16 March 2003, the band appeared as the honorary guest and headliner of the 6th International Rockstation Festival, in which Tankard (germany) Mourning Caress (germany) and Erkin Koray (Turkey) also appeared. Soon after the band shared stage with well-known Turkish names Vega, Pentagram, Nil Karaibrahimgil at the Metu Spring Festival and played again infront of thousands of fans at the stadium, again gathered for Darkphase.
On 3rd May 2006 the band played with world famous MSG, and once again proved success on stage. During the show, their fans supported them, and they gave the signals for the second studio album.
after 13 years from their legendary album, darkphase released a new official album, "darphane" in december 2007 which may be considered as a travel through darkphase history from 1995 to 2005...
2009 - 20th ANNIVERSARY
In 2009 the band began celebrating their 20th anniversary in thrash metal scene. A special party was organised in the name of "back to the roots" in order to celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary and to announce the band’s new album to be released in 2010, a heavy, aggressive, fast thrash metal album.
Darkphase and their new songs were welcome by the audience with great enthusiasm after all these years, and "back to the roots" concept was gladly accepted. After a photo shoot in the concept of "dirt" the band began playing in important and well organised concerts. The band co-headlined the international Rockstation Fest with Doro Pesch and interviews about the stage performance were simply amazing:"Darkphase, played faster, stronger and simply better than all these younger bands who appeared there. We, as a media thought it was going to be great to see such an important band on stage again, and thought they will play and make us have good time...
"It was mind blowing after all, we were shocked and hugely affected by their performance. It was kinda thrash metal lesson for the new generation" |
