I really liked your zeal and effort you put into your performance  

Now, set your mind on what can be improved. Signposting, linking your case/arguments to the resolution, showing impact of yr argument, spending more time explaining your argument, refuting arguments with more than one point, taking time and distance to consider the argument before refuting it, maintaining eye contact, making strong introduction and conclusion.

This is a large amount of pretty technical comments but it all boils down to what/how YOU do things in a given situation. And each element from this list of comments is sth you can take time thinking about. And it is precisely this, your consideration, that will help you greatly to take long steps forward in your next debates.

So keep up with your good work and allow yourself some time to consider your performance and that of fellow debaters. Remember wise men lear from everybody.

Now: today you had a fairly demanding task, guys. Half an hour to think about an IMPROMPTOU resolution, identify arguments, anticipate opposition's case and agree on strategy within your time is far from being easy. From what I saw in Room 17, you did more than well

The topic in itself may not have been particularly difficult (altruism vs healthy egotism), but impromptous, extremely limited time and team work do not provide for ideal circumstances for a well thought out performance.

Yet, then again: circumstances are us, in most cases

Let me conclude with a relevant quote:

If I am not for myself, who will be? And if I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now- when?

1st Q: is on NECESSARY egotism (you can't survive! without any)
2nd Q is about necessity of altruism.
3rd is just great, innit?

It was fun and spontaneous and maybe a little clumsy from all of us, and I am really sorry that I couldn't get my act together(had a busy day and a lot of stuff on my mind as it went on, so everything was just mixed and a big disaster came out of my mouth at the end). But we learned a lot about fast thinking and making the most sense of it, so in that particular way it was awsome
Also we learned a very useful word!   Altrusim, very fast  
So if I sum it all up it was fantastic
