OFFLINE | In exploring various designers and design firms to create our logo for us, I became less and less excited about the idea of hiring a single designer or firm to do it. I just didn't like our odds of getting something we'd love, at least not on our budget. Then I discovered crowdsourcing.
It is essentially opening it up as a contest to a community of designers. You let them know exactly what you're looking for (who you are, target audience, sample designs you like, color scheme, etc), choose a prize amount, and start the contest. During the contest, you rate each design and give feedback. Designers will change whatever you want.
In our 3 week long contest, we had roughly 70 designers submit over 200 designs, a number of which I would have been delighted to have as our logo. I also got our print design bundled with it for free.
It is a great option for logos, series artwork, packaging, print, webdesign, you name it, especially if you don't have really talented designers on your team. Check out more about it here: http://mosaicpastor.com/crowd-sourcing http://mosaicpastor.com/crowd-sourcing |
