OFFLINE | From now on, Facebook users can create forums on Facebook
Then they can add/edit/delete forum categories, enable/disable cencorship or online feature, even assign moderators etc..
The link: http://www.facebookforums.net/

 OFFLINE | Hi Gang,
I seem to be doing something wrong.
Have clicked on "Create a Forum Now", completed all the information, and have saved it. It says "Your Forum is Now Available" but I'm not able to find it.
Any help would be appreciated! |

OFFLINE | I also seem to be doing something wrong. I've created my forum and created several categories but when I go to it there are no categories. I try adding again and saving but still same problem. If I go to my forum URL and click on "add categories" ... all the previous categories I have added show up but no matter what I have tried they are not showing up on my forum page.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you |

 OFFLINE | http://apps.facebook.com/facebook_forums/the_mattress_underground/
my categories appear here http://www.facebookforums.net/create-a-forum-on-facebook/cats.php
and strangely enough also here http://apps.facebook.com/facebook_forums/?forum=5
but these last two don't even have the forum name in the URL. |

Your forum URL is http://apps.facebook.com/facebook_forums/the_mattress_underground/ or
http://apps.facebook.com/facebook_forums/?forum=404 not this one: http://apps.facebook.com/facebook_forums/?forum=5.
You should be able to add categories to your forum at http://www.facebookforums.net/create-a-forum-on-facebook/cats.php.
Could you try one more time?
If you fail again, please let me know.

OFFLINE | I go here http://www.facebookforums.net/create-a-forum-on-facebook/cats.php and my categories are all there but I added one called testing.
I then clicked on "create a forum" and was prompted to log in (already logged in button doesn't work) and was taken back to here http://www.facebookforums.net/create-a-forum-on-facebook/ which shows my forum name in the URL and and the description etc. Click on "go to forum" and I'm back to http://apps.facebook.com/facebook_forums/?forum=404 (noticing you registered) but no categories. Click backpage an click on "build your forum" and go to here http://www.facebookforums.net/create-a-forum-on-facebook/cats.php which has "the mattress underground categories" and then the (Edit Forum Info) beside it but no categories. Click backpage (back to http://www.facebookforums.net/create-a-forum-on-facebook/) and then click "build your forum" again and go back to http://www.facebookforums.net/create-a-forum-on-facebook/cats.php but this time all my categories show up but this time the name is missing and it only shows the word "categories". Click backpage and then "visit your forum" and still no categories. Endless circle with always the same sequence and outcome.
ps: and I know it's not my forum but all my new categories are showing up here still http://apps.facebook.com/facebook_forums/?forum=5 |

OFFLINE | It is happening because of your browser I think.
What is your operating system and browser?
Can you try with another browser? |

OFFLINE | Windows XP SP3 and Firefox 3.6.13
It seems to work with IE. I can see the new category I added with IE in both.
When I go to http://www.facebookforums.net/create-a-forum-on-facebook/cats.php I can only see the categories I created with the browser I am using.
Is this forum not compatible with FF/XP? |
