I'm not sure how many of you will be coming to Fort Benning but there are several options.

We are 90 minutes south of Atlanta, The Hartsfield Atlanta airport is the closest major airport to us. There is a regional airport here in Columbus http://www.flycolumbusga.com/airport-information/airport-resources-low-fares with flights to several major cities. Either could be an option for you.

If you do fly into Atlanta there are shuttles to Fort Benning. Groome Transportation is the most widely used. http://www.groometransportation.com/columbus_ftbenning.htm Rental cars are obviously also available at Hartsfield Atlanta.

There is a ton of lodging in Columbus! The more desirable areas are a little North of Fort Benning from exit 6 up through exit 12. There is easy access to a ton of restaurants and shopping around the exit 8 and exit 10 area. Please check Trip Advisor or another reliable site for recommendations. (The Victory Drive area is closest to the post and there are a couple of very nice hotels there, one housing the USO...but as a general rule it is not a desirable area to stay)

I haven't stayed there but have heard it's reasonably priced, clean and adequate...a friend who came down last month stayed there and was happy with!
