OFFLINE | Changing up the 1/10th racing
Ok, Here is the deal with what is going on with the 1/10th night racing.
At the start of the season there was a huge response to build this track. We built it, we put lights in, we made an awesome drivers stand. Based on talking to a few people as well as looking at our schedule, we decided to have racing on Wednesdays and Friday nights altering back and forth every
...
fortnight. The turnouts have been horrible for this racing with usually not enough people to even have a race. This could have been because of traffic getting here, poor weather, or unfortunately no interest in racing 1/10th. We still ran practice all night which was a lot of fun but it would be even better to have racing. We were looking into putting permanent power and water at the track but so far there is no justification to do so. This could be a premier facility for 1/10th offroad this side of Toronto if the racers supported it.
What I am going to do is scrap the existing schedule as it is just not working.
Here is the new plan:
This Saturday night we are going to be holding racing under the lights. This is going to be a test to see if a weekend is better for people to make the drive here so we can actually get racing going. The track will be prepped to the fullest extent and we will run on a sugared surface. The schedule for Sat night will be:
Practice from 4:00pm till 6:30pm
Quals from 6:30pm till 9:00pm
Mains 9:00pm till 10:30pm
Costs will be:
$15 First Class
$10 Second Class
$10 Third Class
We will also be planning a trophy race later in the year that will be a 1 day event.
Attendance at these events will be the final determining factor to see if this track is going to be here in 2014. It is not feasible to run the track the way its currently going. In that case HRC Raceway will revert back to an only 1/8th racing facility.
