OFFLINE | After seeing Captain America at the midnight showing, I have to say it is a very cool movie. The 3D effects weren't "In your face" but they were good otherwise.*Warning might be spoiler hints ahead* For what this movie set out to be like. I'd give this movie a 5. For the enjoyment, I'd give it a 4. For the story and how close it was to the original (what I remember) I'd give it a 4 since they changed only a few things to really make it flow better on-screen. (Like they did with Harry Potter) So my final score overall for this movie? 4.5 as I was left feeling good about everything and the mini-trailer after the credits was cool too since it showed that the NEXT movie will be BIG next summer! I won't spoil what it is but I'd say it is worth it.
Now the story was smooth flowing with moments of humor from misunderstandings from Captain America and his lady love interest. The actions scenes were good and for any NORMAL person, they would have been unbelievable but for a super-soldier, they worked just fine. So when CA is sending a bad guy flying using his super-strength, you might wince at first like "I'm glad I'm not him" but even after he proves his power, he still has to prove himself and when he gets a chance, he does big time! Captain gets a cool motorcycle in the movie that kinda reminded me of something you might see from Batman on a bike. The shields that Captain gets are both from the comic so they're good. I thought it was cool to see the father of Iron Man in the movie but I had to wonder about what happened to the flying car prototype by the time Tony Stark came around. As usual, Stan Lee was in the movie with a brief line like: "I thought he was taller..." The credits mentioned other big names too but I didn't recognize them visually. Ah well.
