What a coincidence Danny!

Around about the end March, I was in Chicago, where I got lost and happened to wander into a dark alley. Suddenly a group of young african-american men surrounded me and ordered me to surrender my wallet and valuables to them otherwise they would inflict serious injuries upon my body. I complied with the aforementioned request, however it seemed that these scoundrels had no intention of fulfilling their part of the bargain.

As they raised their weapons to do me harm, a beautiful golden beast appeared from out of the shadows. As he stepped into the light, I caught a better look at my would-be savior and realized that he was, in fact, a golden retriever and wearing a navy blue uniform of some sort, with stripes across the shoulders and a wing insignia on the lapel.

It spoke, "There shall be no innocent blood shed upon these streets, not if I have my say! Lay down ye weapons, or suffer the consequences!" It soon became apparent that the hoodlums would not yield and that is when all hell broke loose. It happened so quick that I hardly had the chance to realize what was happening.

As my hero had warned, he unleashed his fury upon my attackers. In a series of fluid, acrobatic moves, he took them down one by one, with the extensive use of leg sweeps, kicks, and flying headbutts. It became obvious that this dog was an expert at the Brazillian art of Capoeira, a style that combines elements of martial arts, music, and dance. Blood was splattering, bones were cracking, fist were flying, and there I was just standing there, not even stepping in to help.

Finally the dust had settled, and my attackers lay spread in a ring around my rescuer, I tried to find the words to thank this brave soul that had risked his life for mine, but before I could speak, he spotted a cat and went off running and barking at it. That was the last I ever saw of him, but now that I think about it, I did see a 747 taking off a few miles away from the scene of the incident. It was heading Southeast, if that helps.

Please forward my gratitude to your golden retriever if you ever find him.
