OFFLINE | SAN DIEGO – A truck driver was sentenced Monday to nearly 22 years in prison for hauling about 10 tons of marijuana that was smuggled through a sophisticated cross-border tunnel, one of the largest marijuana busts in U.S. history.
Independent Conservative speaking again. *Waving*
You guys know me well enough to know I'm against the legalization of pot. But I also dont think mere users should do hard time for holding. While its against the law, it seems to me that a hefty fine and community service should suffice. No real reason to put an otherwise nice person in prison with hardened killers just for this.
However ...
(You knew there was a however coming didntcha? Lol!)...
However, anyone caught growing, selling the stuff or transporting a huge amount like this should (imnsho) spend 20 years busting rocks on a prison farm. their crime rises to a much higher level if you ask me. Its pretty clear that this guy was transporting this stuff for a drug lord. He may not have known the drug lord himself (probably didnt), but he's still working for him.
And when you buy this stuff, most likely you are buying from killers.
