Open Letter to Facebook


     My name is Milissa Neathery.  I have been on facebook for at least
two years,maybe longer, and today facebook took away my right to leave
any kind of comment on any wall on facebook.  Let me give you the
back story here...There is an application on facebook called "Top Fans"
and I have been number two of my neice's top fans for weeks.  A good
friend of mine who also happen's to be my neice's cousin, has been her
number one fan.  So, as a JOKE I decieded that I Was going to do my best
to become number one.  I told my neice and everyone of my friends, that
I was going to post 500 comments on her wall to see if I could become
number one.  Well, at 342 comments, my account was disabled to the point
of not being able to post on HER wall for what could be "a couple of hours,
or a couple of days."  I actually thought that was pretty funny, sat at
my computer and laughed and thought, well if that's the case then noone
can beat me.  Then...I went to post a comment on another friends wall,
and recieved a message from facebook that if I continued to try and
post comments then my account would be disabled permamemtly.  The reason
that this has really upset me is because about a week ago, I reported
someone on facebook that was cyber bullying my neice, and NOTHING was
done to this person.  Then, when I put on my status about being blocked
from writing on walls, a friend came back and was telling me about KNOWN
sex offenders that are on facebook.  Come on, I understand that they
have to moniter things, but are they monitering the right things?  Yes,
I know that alot of people will look at my 342 comments and be like "Wow
lady, get a life" But this was all in good fun.  Facebook is a "Social
Network" and is there to help you reconnect with your friends, and
that is what I was doing!  My neice has no mother in her life, and has
had a really bad last couple of weeks and I was just trying to make
her day, and make her laugh! Plus, who does not love a little friendly
competition?  That is what this was suppossed to be between a friend and
I.  But, instead it has come down to stupidity on facebook!  Here is my
status that is up now:"Ok, I am not allowed to post on anyone's wall
because I have been tagged by facebook asannoying. I was in a comment war
with a friend of mine, I was trying to become my neice's number one
stalker. I have been told by facebook that if I continue to try and post
on other peoples walls then my account will be disabled forever!"
Now, here is a comment made by a friend of mine:"I cant help but laugh at
poor Missi, the most innocent lady on facebook and they banned her"
Come on facebook, if you want to moniter something, moniter the bullys
and the sex offenders!
