 OFFLINE | Here's my input:
Screen Resolution
If you physically see HTC Sensation, its screen color is as nice as SGS2, just that the viewing angle is poor (LCD mah). As far as I am concern, I always look right into the screen and not sideway, besides I like the privacy (hate the one sitting next to me peek at my screen).
Photo
When I download both phone sample photos from Engadget and view on my PC, I noted that SGS2 has a poorer quality. I post a request to those that owe the phones to post their photos but no one reply...hahaha So HTC Sensation is a better camera for now.
Video
Both can take good HD 1080 videos but HTC Sensation is in stereo and SGS2 is in mono. Is Korea still using mono on TV/radio?
Performance
I would said SGS2 win in performance. No doubt about it. HTC Sense is bigger than Windows XP, it take up 3GB of the internal storage.
Look
HTC Sensation win in design. Looks more premium. SGS2 looks plastic and cheapskate. For me, bringing a HTC Sensation to a function, it is like bringing a chiobu. SGS2 give me the feeling of bringing a toy phone. You guys can see I browse around a lot more for SGS2 casing than HTC Sensation's.
Summary
Since I will be taking lots of photos with my next phone (so I don't need to bring my monster camera around), I am lean more towards HTC Sensation for now.
Let's see how much SGS2 cost for a 2 year contract. I don't care how SMS going to price it. So long it is >$50 more than HTC Sensation on contract, I will go for HTC Sensation =) |

OFFLINE | Yea. I am using the phone to start my Android development too. So Android is also a MUST.
Camera is a must because it is easier to take photos/videos in trade show/conference. Exhibitors will think I'm a spy if I bring my monster camera out...hahaha
A good camera also mean I can take photos with VIP and VVIP. Some friends always said I bullshit....hahaha Need evidence. You will get shock who I met and talk to in the past 10 years...hahaha |

Get the S2 if you're starting Android development or the next Nexus device! HTC locks it's bootloader.. they say won't lock anymore, but when will it unlock? And will they unlock for Sensation?? |

OFFLINE | I think SGS 2 is abit over rated ? cause personally like what wei kok mention .. SGS 2 is expensive and the review between Sensation and S2 suggests that they are no where close (S2 OWN Sensation). But when I hand on, i thought Sensation was pretty creative with Sense 3.0 and design wise, i can say HTC did a good job ..
2 cents worth |

OFFLINE | @ Starry I am also wondering do I really need a powerful phone to learn Android last week.
As for camera, I don't want to bring so many things to a reception.
The folks here asked me to wait. So I give myself until 18th June. Tomorrow is the day. Hope got GREAT Father's Day discount =) |

No true. They promise software upgrade to unlock all bootloader. I believe HTC more than Samsung. =x |

OFFLINE | i've been with sensation for a week plus, the battery life is killing me when i fool too much with it. i also find the RAM a little too little, not sure if the extra 300mb will help comparing with SGS2. the lag on the reaction of the phone can be irritating. but with a bad experience with the tab, htc is still my choice. |

OFFLINE | @Sket I think you mass with it too much. My battery at least one full day (with lots of apps download). On work days, it can last me almost 2 days.
Consider getting Sanyo Eneloop Mobile Booster KBC-L2B. Highly recommended by Lance =) I am planning to get it when my usage start ramming...lolx
SGS2 with 10% more battery life will still have the same issue, maybe last slightly longer.
SGT is definitely a battery sucker. My brother had to charge whenever he return home and only unplug when he leave home. |
