OFFLINE
I've decided NOT to ride my mare anywhere close to the round pen when Ronnie is working with a client or a horse.  The other day I decided to ride a little just around the property.  I passed the round pen where Ronnie was working a horse and rider and then veered off to the right, putting the round pen to my back.  I was just enjoying "mosinging" along when all the sudden I felt my mare LEEEAAAVVVE out from under me!!!! (I've not taken the dreaded dump yet and am planning on putting that off as long as I can!)  I did NOT know what the HECK happened.  I looked on the ground thinking she "saw" something that spooked her...nothing.  I headed on down the the lower barn, turned and trotted back toward the round pen where other clients were gathered watching Ronnie.  One of them looked up at me and I said, "Did you SEE what almost happened to me back there"?  They laughed and said, "Yeah, sure did".  THEN they proceeded to tell me what actually happened.  It seems my mare (all horses, really) was paying more attention to what Ronnie was doing in the round pen than to me.  SHE SAW HIM RAISE HIS WHIP!  She took off like a shot and I thought for sure I'd met that dreaded dump I've been putting off.  But she kept me on board.  I have to give her the credit cuz otherwise I know I'da been on the ground.

Will not do THAT again....
