OFFLINE | so boner and bummer are playing golf together; how cute. i get that maybe they're trying to send a positive message, but whatever happened to meetings, or a stroll on the whitehouse lawn? when millions of americans are struggling to survive, it just doesn't send the right message, imo. |

What, that they're off playing golf while people are unemployed? Shocking! Inconceivable! Bastards, how could they? Did he say something like "We're going to take care of the economy. Now watch this swing"?

OFFLINE | Yeah I don't think this is that important either. Remember GWB spent a huge amount of time on vacation. Many politicians end up having fun at the wrong time. It's getting so typical that we don't really care anymore. |

OFFLINE | in a way i don't think it's important either, nor am i foaming at the mouth about it. i get what they're trying to do. they're trying to build bridges, and make a public showing at trying to do that, and depending on what the outcome may be, i have no problem with that. so on that note, i'm somewhat indifferent. however, im simply pointing out how the venue will be received by many of those who are struggling hardest. as the title of the thread suggests, i just think it's bad optics. just as it was bad optics when bush was seen on the course in fahrenheit 9/11. on that front, for those who are frustrated with washington, and with the current administrations mishandling of the economy, and an inability to get anything done, this just looks like a casual day at the country club, while the economy is in shamlbes. that's all. |
