We get loads of questions about what Audio Interfaces are available to use with our software, so we thought it deserved a discussion all of its own.

The following is a list of iPad audio interfaces known to work with out software. They fall into one of 3 categories, those using the headset / headphone socket, those that require a camera kit adapter and those that connect directly to the iPad's IO Dock.

If you have are using an interface that isn't in this list please post a reply with the name of the interface, the type (i.e. headset, camera kit, direct connection) and whether the interface is MONO or STEREO and we will add it to our compatibility list.

Headset Socket Interfaces
====================
IK Multimedia - iRig (mono)
Peavey - AMPKit Adapter (mono)

Camera Kit Interfaces
=================
Behringer UCA200 (stereo)
Alesis Multi-Mix 4 USB (Four Channel Mixer)
PreSonus Audiobox USB (stereo, midi)
Apogee One. Powered USB Required

IO Dock Interfaces
==============
Alesis IO Dock
Apogee Jam (mono)
Sonoma Guitar Jack (mono)

I use the Apogee One. Powered USB and Camera Connection Kit required.  It has pristine sound, multiple input types, line in for guitars and bass and balanced XLR with phantom power for pro mics. 24 bit and no latency. I especially like the built-in Tuned Apeture Mic if I need to just get an idea recorded fast. Sometimes I even keep the track cause it sounded so good.  I hope to ask my friend at 4pockets to include the same input control for the Apogee One as is in GarageBand for the iPad which allows you to change the various inputs right within the app. I have a video of this on YouTube.

I just tried my new iRiffPort with my StompBox app, and the interface worked great.  The unit hooks directly to the iPad2's I/O port.
