Astrology Basics for Beginners~

ASTROLOGY:  In the Zodiac there are 12 Astrological Signs, the Sun travels through the Signs much the same way we follow the yearly calendar.  Signs change on approximately the 21st of each month.  Every human being (whether they believe in Astrology or not) has a designated “Sun Sign” according to their date of birth.
The Sun Signs are:

Aries     Mar  21     to     April 21
Taurus     April 21     to     May 21
Gemini     May 21     to     June 21
Cancer     June 21     to     July 21
Leo     July 21     to     Aug 21
Virgo     Aug 21     to     Sept 21
Libra     Sept 21     to     Oct 21
Scorpio     Oct 21     to     Nov 21
Sagittarius     Nov 21     to     Dec 21
Capricorn     Dec 21     to     Jan 21
Aquarius     Jan  21     to     Feb 21
Pisces     Feb 21     to     Mar 21

These are approximate dates, if you are born close to the 21st of the month, consult a Professional Astrologer to find out exactly what sign you are born under. You might learn that you are “born on the cusp of two signs” which can explain why either sign (or both) seems to fit you better.  There are many great books on the market on how the signs interact with each other; a good working knowledge of that is very helpful when meeting people for the first time.

Astrology is the set of instructions or blueprint of the life, we didn't know we are born with. Astrology can help you to understand yourself, loved ones, and people you just met. A Natal Birth Chart is a 360 degree circle, it looks like a pie cut into 12 slices. Each area, known as a "House" to Astrologer, denotes a certain area of one's life. Yes! You guessed it! Each House is ruled by one of the twelve Sun Signs.
A Natal Birth Chart is as unique to you, as your fingerprints. A Birth Chart is also called, The Natal Horoscope. You might hear a chart called a "Wheel" or simply, a Chart. They are one and the same. The chart is calculated from TIME, place and date of birth. It is so exact, even identical twins, born six minutes apart, at the same place, on the same date will have slightly different (but important) placements in the Natal Chart.

If the birth time is unknown, there are two methods available to Astrologers. A Solar Chart, while it will not give as much information, gives a very good interpretation as a Natal Chart. There is also a process called Rectification of the Natal Chart that will give a very accurate chart. Consult an Astrologer even if you don't know your birth time.

An astrology chart is like a pie cut into 12 slices each slice is what astrologers call a "house"  and each house, has to do with a certain area of the life

Often we will read an Astrology book about our Sun Signs or find in a newspaper or magazine information on daily *Horoscopes*. In the Daily Horoscopes, information is written about the Sun Sign alone and we can easily think there isn't much that astrology offers, since that doesn't seem to fit us, and we might think, "gee this isn't right at all!". The reason is we are by far, more than our Sun Signs alone and there are actually three other points in a Natal Birth Chart that are as important as, and will tell a story, just as the Sun Sign does; those would be:

1. The Sun Sign
2. The Sign the Moon is traveling through on the day of your birth
3. On the left of the chart in the house you see a number 1.that is the First House
Cusp, also known as the Ascendant or Rising Sign
4.  At the very top of the chart is the Midheaven, or 10th House Cusp.

These four points give much better insight as to the unique person you are. Often many people have two of these points in the same Sign. If the Sun Sign and Moon Sign (also called the "Lights") are in the same sign, it means you were born directly before or after a New Moon and the particular Sun Sign traits will be stronger, and in many cases you will find the info written to be very accurate, kind of like a "wow" moment.

Astrology of youth can help you to understand your children in ways that aren't always possible in day to day living with children. An understanding of your own Natal Birth Chart is a great tool to understanding yourself; seek a qualified Astrologer for help in getting an understanding where the Planets were on the day you were born and what the promise is for your life.
Relationship charts, whether family, friends or other loved ones tell an interesting story of compatibility and will point out the areas that could be troubling in a relationship. It is a great idea to get that information before you fall in love.
