 OFFLINE | April 3, 2014: What's My Job?
Chimes
Rhymes
Dishes
Wishes
That I could start each day with my coffee cup clean;
Little room
Witch's broom
and hat and cape
and Severus Snape
In my line of work, he can't be far;
Sun shines
Son smiles
Daughter passes
Reading glasses
Smooth the squint of days spent reading, cataloguing, and dreaming over snapshots of coastal horizons my kids have graced;
Scanner
Stapler
'Don't return me any later...'
Puppet alligator
in a goldfish bowl;
Stickers
Stones
Sellotape
Cellphone
And an energy, that can't be seen, or touched, or rhymed with but somehow sings.
Pages rustle
My ride out bustles
me off to my next story spell
For naked telling, with no kids yelling
By a storysmith locked in a book peddler's role. |
