so with the commander in chief determined to dart out of all of our foreign "kenetic operations" and his vow to veto any legislation that attempts to put a halt to the heavy cuts in defense spending, that even obama's own secy of defense, and former secy of defense have said this would result in a gutting of the military, with some even saying it would leave us with the smallest standing military since prior to WWII.

this whole stuporcommittee thing was designed to fail from the gitgo. you think obama wanted to see it succeed? then how could he run against a do-nothing congress? you think that when harry reid dreampt the supercommittee up that he wanted it to succeed in a compromise? particularly when all party players, on both sides, were appointed to it. and especially when polls show that more people would blame the reps (43%) than did the dems (34%).

and just like with past tax cuts, the defense cuts take place immediately, with the promise of cuts in domestic spending by 2013. the republican leadership sure are a bunch of suckers.
