Darius became the king of Babylon and Daniel was made a governor. This would be the third king with which Daniel would serve. He however distinguished himself so well in this position that the King proposed to make him an overseer over the other governors. He was well much envied by his contemporaries. Why was Daniel so different? The answer - "because an excellent Spirit was in him" (Daniel 5:3). God's spirit makes the difference in us. He makes us excel over our contemporaries. The spirit lives in as many who give him control of their lives.
