OFFLINE | OK, so a story making the news rounds yesterday and today says that after January 1 ... when the latest "government solution" kicks in ... we may be paying $50 per 100 Watt light bulbs.
Damn! I'm thinking of stocking up with cases of the old fashioned bad boys. I mean ... at twice the current costs ...
A little black market opportunity?

OFFLINE | I always keep a supply of non-perishable items at the cabin, light bulbs included. But I'm going to restock. I've got an empty closet, I think I'll fill it up!
If we have to pay $50 for light bulbs are they going to raise welfare payments so the people on government assistance can afford them?
why does the government have to tell me what kind of bulbs I can buy anyhow????
are the new ones safer for anal sex???? not me, but I've heard stories.

OFFLINE | I'm wondering if 'lighting' is one of the things we take for granted. I know I'm probably guilty. But when I'm reading, for example, I want a LOT of light and many of these fluorescent lights just don't cut it. And then in the winter time, if the house is cold, they take several minutes to even get to their full brightness which can be a bit annoying at times. But, they do last, or at least the few I bought 13 years ago which haven't needed replacing yet with very regular use.
I really do like LED flashlights though and I have several. But, their color of light takes some getting used to.
But at the prices listed in the article, I dunno, I might have to go stockin...... |

Well, that's a funky place to stick a bulb
So like, if you rub your hair on the pillow, does it light up? |

I think I'll switch to propane lights. Seriously. But then they'll outlaw those too! |
