I thought of making a macro guide since I've been using them a lot lately and they're pretty useful to me ;o

Remember, macros seem too easy for those who know all about them, but they're pretty confusing for those who have never used them, so dun hate meh for making a guide about something easy :3

[SIZE=5]Introducing Macros------------------------------------------------------

Basically, for those who don't know, a macro is a set of commands you give to your computer to perform certain actions at a certain time. Let's say, you could command your computer to click on 5 things on your inventory with one of your click, instead of going and clicking every single one on your own.

Be aware that macros do not get successfully completed every time, but personally, my macros rarely fail.

  • To open up the Macro tab, click U on your keyboard.
  • To make a new macro, click 'New' at the bottom of your macro window.
  • To edit a macro, select one of your already made macros and click 'edit' on the bottom right corner of your macro window.
  • Give your macro a name in the first box.
  • Give your macro a description in the second box.
  • Select an icon for your macros to recognise them immediatelly.

So, I personally use 3 macros, let's introduce them:

[SIZE=5]Set Macro------------------------------------------------------------------------

A macro for those of you who use two sets and are too tired of going on your inventory and clicking every armor piece individually until you get your whole set changed.

Let's say you are a sorcerer and have a full MR and a full MA set.
Objective: Make a macro that switches from your MR to your MA set.
Execution: (eg., you have an ABG cloth set) On your macro tab, after clicking 'New' and typing your info, you will either drag every piece of your ABG set in the 'Enter Macro Command Box', or type them out yourself. After doing that, your macro command box should look like:

/Use Archon Brigade General's Tunic
/Use Archon Brigade General's Gloves
/Use Archon Brigade General's Pauldrons
/Use Archon Brigade General's Leggings
/Use Archon Brigade General's Shoes

(remember our example is an ABG cloth set)

What you have to do next is make another macro for the other set you own. This time, let's say you have a Masta Cloth set.

Execution: On your macro tab, after clicking 'New' again and typing your info, you will either drag every piece of your Masta set in the 'Enter Macro Command Box', or type them out yourself. Be sure to choose a different icon for your second macro, cause you will have to recognise the macro you use for your first set from your second macro. After doing that, your macro command box should look like:

/Use Enraged Mastarius's Tunic
/Use Enraged Mastarius's Gloves
/Use Enraged Mastarius's Pauldrons
/Use Enraged Mastarius's Leggings
/Use Enraged Mastarius's Shoes

[SIZE=5]Aether Macro------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know a lot of you are too bored and lazy to have to break down all your aethers so there is one macro that will help you make the process just a little easier. But it still doesn't save you from constant clicking, so go break those aethers, lazy ass
Objective: Make a macro that breaks down some of your aethers in one click.
Execution: New macro, new icon, new description. On your macro command box, drag the type of aether you wish to start breaking. For this example, I'm gonna use Greater Magical Aethers to break each one down for 3 Magical Aethers. Drag your Greater Magical Aether on your macro command box. After that, you would want to make your macro delay the second breaking by commanding it to 'wait'. After your /Use Greater Magical Aether, you would want to type /delay 3, which would command it to wait 3 seconds between breaking aethers, because that's how long it takes to break one.
After that, copy the two commands and paste them a couple times, until it doesn't allow you to type anything anymore. So that's about 7 times. It should look like this:

/Use Greater Magical Aether
/delay 3
/Use Greater Magical Aether
/delay 3
/Use Greater Magical Aether
/delay 3
/Use Greater Magical Aether
/delay 3
/Use Greater Magical Aether
/delay 3
/Use Greater Magical Aether
/delay 3
/Use Greater Magical Aether

[SIZE=5]Scroll Macro------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's my fave one, and it's the best one for all you who forget to scroll up after their scrolls are out.
Reminder: Don't forget that macros do not work 100% all the time, so your scroll macro might lag and get left out in the middle of using scrolls. So this means, it will probably not use them all and then you're gonna have to manually do it yourself.

Now, if you are a user of 10minute scrolls also, (eg. xxx proof scrolls), you should make two different macros, one for the 5 minute scrolls and one for the 10 minute scrolls, cause you're gonna use the second one half the time you will use the first one.

*Be sure to include the scrolls that each macro uses in the description so you know which ones you're using*

5 minute scroll macro
For this example, we're gonna use Greater Running, Greater Awakening, Major Crit Spell and Major Spell Resist scrolls.

Objective: Make a macro that uses some of your 5minute scrolls at once.
Execution: New macro, new description, new image, etc etc. Drag your first scroll in your macro command box. After that, on a new line, you will want to enter a delay command again. Since scrolls' cooldown is 15 seconds, you need to have a delay of 15 seconds (I put 17 to be sure, but anyway o.O)
After each scroll you use, be sure to enter /delay 15 on the other line. Your command box should now look like this:

/Use Greater Running Scroll
/delay 15
/Use Greater Awakening Scroll
/delay 15
/Use Major Crit Spell Scroll
/delay 15
/Use Major Spell Resist Scroll
10 minute scroll macro
For this example, we're gonna use Fine Fireproof, Fine Waterproof and Fine Earthproof scrolls.

Objective: Make a macro that uses some of your 10minute scrolls at once.
Execution: Same as the 5 minute scroll macro, just use your 10 minute scrolls.
After you're done, your command box should look like this:

/Use Fine Fireproof Scroll
/delay 15
/Use Fine Waterproof Scroll
/delay 15
/Use Fine Earthproof Scroll
So you now have 2 macros that use your scrolls with one click. Remember to make different macros for 5 minute scrolls and different ones for 10 minute scrolls, and put the scroll names in each macro's description.
