to make the game a little more interesting maybe make some rules about fish and their backgrounds. for example if you put a sweet water fish in a salt water tank it will becomes sick, i think a few of these gamerules would make the game alot more fun.
i have alot of neighbours and its not easy searching through all those when i need to find a persons tank...
so my suggestion is maybe make something like a favorite button that makes your closest friends show up first in your leaderboard. also it might be nice to have certain fish that still gain experience and gold post level 5. and a question..
do the pets take up tank capacity space?
